ELLERBEE did not beat out Mcclain, he had more reps but was not the starter so get your facts straight, ellerbee was the main backup period .
As for Mueller and Speilman they never hired once coach. Ross needs to hire a GM and let him do the work that he has been trained to do

He ended up starting every other game after that when Lewis went out. So, yeah he beat McClain out for those 3 first games and was on his way to taking his spot.

He played more he was not the starter jesus you read it yourself yet don't even comprehend it.
It didn't say Mclain started while Ellerbee played 65 percent of his snaps. He played for both Lewis and Mclain as well as some outside.
He was like a friggin nickel back. Not once did ellerbee take the job from Mclain. Is Ellerbee a god NFL player yes but he is not a top level inside linebacker.
He has played at that kind of level for 8 games out of his 5 year NFL career and yet we paid him like a perennial all pro. that's the definition of a bad GM

Here is where going 1-15 is better than going 7-9 or 8-8.
With 1-15...You know to make a change.Try something new.
No doubt about it.
Keep going 7-9 or 8-8...It keeps the boss thinking"Maybe we are close?""I'll stay the course with this
ship." Small changes are made, nothing major...we go 8-8 again..We do this same song and
dance over and over for a few more years.
Boss, now wants to make changes, but not overall changes..I.E hire new coach ,but keep same GM.
or vice a versa...New person comes in,thinks"hey, this team went 7-9..they are close"Small changes are made again
to try to make playoffs in first year....We go...guess what? 7-9 again...Same song and dance for more years.
We've never really had a total rebuild in 15 years...We keep patching a crappy boat and changing out crew members
at different times.
It's pretty much the meaning of insanity.
Sound about right?

Youre right. And all of these facts are what makes it so extra frustrating that Parcells came in when we were at that point and screwed the whole thing up by taking Jake Wrong and Chad Henne.

Parcells and every one of his idiotic prodigies should have been gone but our owner is too stupid to do things like that. Hell we can talk about those two guys all we want but its not like Dion Jordan and Danial Thomas are lighting up the league

What did these awesome players do is the question. Ellerbee has never been good enough to win a starting job ever yet we hand over millions, Wallace was not valued by his former team to be paid anymore than their other receiver but of course we need to make him one of the best paid receivers in football after we gave away one of the actual best receivers in football. Atlanta decided it wasn't worth resigning their pro bowl tackle but yet a team with no clue how to win decides hell what does the rest of the NFL know we know better because we have the genius known as Ireland. Dansby outperformed his replacement here, Marshall outperformed his replacement and Clabo definitely is not better than Long so yes its the friggin GM also
The Steelers offered 5 years/$55 million, the Dolphins went with 5 years/$60 million. Not a big difference

Regardless both teams would overpay but many times u overpay to keep your guy. He is worth neither salary. He had performed for Pittsburgh at times so I can understand possibly overpaying.
Him and Antonio brown give u about the same results that's why they did not go any higher. we had a better receiver than either guy that made less

It's tough to sign anyone in free agency without over-paying. I'm much more upset about the money spent on Wheeler than Wallace

I don't know history shows that going out and overpaying for a guy like Wallace almost never works. We could have drafted a better receiver in Dez Bryant. Wheeler makes chump change compared to Wallace and both were very average.

i have to disagree with you on Wallace. There were a lot of times where he was wide open for long touchdowns and Tannehill overthrew or under threw the pass. Wallace showed that he was not just a one trick pony because most of his catches were chain moving catches. If Tannehill would have got him the ball on several of those deep runs Wallace would have been a top 5 receiver stats wise.

Wallace has never been a top five receiver in any respect so not sure why u are so sure of that. Wallace dropped some easy balls and gave up on routes so he is just as much to blame. No qb hits their wr at the perfect spot every time

Our owner is a self made billionaire who started his career as a Detroit tax attorney and is now the biggest real estate developer in New York. He built his wealth by creating many successful developments to be able to afford spending over a billion dollars to buy the team. He did not inherit the money like some other owners eg Bob Kraft from the cheese factory or Woody Johnson from the baby oil production line, he made it himself. I'm sorry but when I see someone deride him for being "too stupid", I disagree strongly. Stephen Ross is still learning how to be a good owner, we are lucky we have a good man at the top. Think how the Redskin fans and Dallas fans feel about their meddling know-it-all owners. Or the Buffalo Bills fans who know that old Ralph is 95 years old and who knows where their team will end up..

So because someone is rich means he cannot be a stupid NFl owner. Im sorry being rich does not make one a genius and definitely doesn't make them a genius in all things. He has done some incredibly dumb things as an owner. Deciding to let Parcells take his money either way, extending Sparano after he tried to hire a coach with no vacancy, then waiting until the last minute to try to get a stadium bill to pass. So called meddling know it all owners are having more success than our whatever you wanna call it dimwit of an owner.

SHEFTER doesnt realize that this info was given by boss ross SUNDAY NIGHT after the loss.

but, he gets some slack because, like so many, he is basking in the world changing events with ROBIN ROBERTS.

all this sports news, world hunger, rise of communism, crime, natural disasters, etc......, all of this becomes irrelevant, so small compared to that world changing announcment.

:(

Also Self made who knows Im sure having an uncle that was one of the richest men in America was definitely not a disadvantage in his early business dealings. If he earned his money or was given his money Kraft has been a much better owner, Jerry jones has been a much better owner. I don't give one damn how our owner got his money I care about how good of an owner he is . In fact our former owner was more of a so called self made man than almost any in the NFL and yet he didn't bring us close to a championship although I feel he was a better owner than this jackazz

If you notice I said "stats" wise. I can recount at least 5 times he was open for 60+Yd bombs and got missed by Tannehill. Wallace did Infact dropped some balls but the guy almost had 1000yd receiving which last time I checked is very good.
