Eric Ebron vs. Tre Mason

If Clay and Ebron were both available at 19 who would the people saying but we already have Clay take? Its the kind of loser thinking with safe picks or going for need over best player available that have us with so few talented home grown players across the board. Smart franchises don't pass on guys they think will be stars no matter what, you don't not draft Andrew Luck because you have Peyton Manning.

Wow, people still think drafting a TE means getting rid of Clay. :bobdole:

I get what most of you are saying, but we have no one that can go grab the ball at it's highest point in the red zone. I'm not sure that the wco runs two tight end sets. I would hate to take snaps away from Clay, Gib, Matthews at this point. But, I do think we need a 6,4 -6,5 guy to go up and get the ball. Also, we could wait on Andre Williams in the 4th, lets not forget how bad we are at line backer. Shayne Skove in the third?

As far as I know, there was no one who suggested or implied that.

Implying is exactly what this post did:

Clay was much better. So, things worked out pretty well. Did ya know that Clay was #2 among all TE's in causing 17 missed tackles. Bennett was #1 with 23. I'm not looking for a TE in the first round this year in Ebron. I'm good with Clay.

Otherwise, it had no point.

I think Ebron is better, but Jace Amaro is a big catch radius guy that is match up nightmare...esp in the red area.

No implication on my behalf on replacing Clay, just saying that I see no need for another TE in the first round. I would go DT in Nix, Donald or Hageman.

Hayden, I've been watching tape on Amaro. The guy constantly uses his body to catch the ball, never uses his hands.
Ebron makes circus catches constantly. If you see different please post the feed.

fyi this post was never meant to replace Clay, only to supplement him.

I think Ebron is better too. I think Amaro catches with his body some by it depends the catch.

Even though Clay is 6,3 and Hartline is 6,2 I've never seen either of them run a corner route then go up and get the ball against any db. Please post if I missed anything. I realize we have more pressing needs, but I believe having a player on this team that can do that equals more touch downs and less field goal by a pretty good margin.

I have to consider that last year was Clay's first year at playing TE in the NFL.

Doesn't matter, a lot of the passes Tanny threw that Clay couldn't quite come down with a 6'5 Ebron would easily snag.

Clay if Miami drafts Ebron, would be a matchup nightmare in the slot and out the backfield.
