ESPN - Miami Dolphins Opening Day 53 Roster - James Walker

I'd guess a few changes, they'll have a 3rd qb over Daniel Thomas. And Binns will beat out Williams at Wr. Also Lynch makes the team since he's a 5th round pick and they have no FB so that will justify it. Probably cut an O-lineman.. Surprise cut would be Shelley Smith. Also I see Fede instead of Francis as the Last D-lineman.

there's probably what 12 guys who are on the bubble in camp...it's not that many...15 max that they are looking at

Jones has more talent but, Kovacs has played better on special teams last year. It could be a battle.
 
IMO we should keep 2 QB's. We most likely will keep 6 WR's there's too much talent to keep only 5. Aikens can play S or CB so his versatility will be a big plus for him making the roster. Then we have Wilson and Aikens both who can play anywhere in the secondary. Finally we need 10 DL.

5th round picks aren't guaranteed a roster spot and Lynch has been extremely quiet in camp. I've heard Miller's name more than Lynch and I view Lynch as a slower version of Dion Sims. If he's not one of the best 53 he shouldn't get a spot just because he was a 5th round pick. Really if you're not picked in the first 3 rounds your chances are as good as an undrafted free agent. In 2009 we picked TE John Nalbone in the 5th round and he didn't make the roster. In 2012 LB Josh Kaddu went to the practice squad before being called up late in the season to take an injured players spot and he's not even with the team any more.
 
I think he messed up. He says 9 OL but then he lists 10 unless I need my reading glasses adjusted. I think one of those guys needs to get the axe. If Satele gets up to speed and makes it, someone goes. Possibly Brenner. Brenner looked promising at times until Kyle Williams of Buffalo absolutely stole his lunch money. That was literally embarrassing for Brenner.

I like that he kept both Francis and Johnson at DT. I liked the 6 Wideouts. Only 3 TE's but 4 rb's threw me off. I might flip that so Lynch makes it. But we haven't heard much about Lynch have we? I like the 7 lbs.

Jalil Brown not making it on his list was interesting. I had Brown penciled in but he may be right there.

I think his list is solid overall.
 
Gillislee and Fede are making this team.

G is pretty good run blocker it seems and is able to hit the outside/inside and is bigger this year.

Fede has great size and upside has been great. They will teach whatever weakness he has. Jordan out for 4 makes him the guy. Johnson wont make it unless he comes on in preseason games.

I just went through the tweets we have:

7/25 - Not mentioned
7/26 - Mentioned as H-back
7/27 - Not mentioned
7/28 - Day off
7/29 - Nice 1-hander in drills
7/30 - Not mentioned
7/31 - Blasted by Jones
8/1 - TD in scrimmage (that is good)
8/2 - Nice 16-yard catch on a high throw; later a drop
8/3- Day off
8/4 - Completion...no details; then goes out injured


Based on this, I know Sims and Lynch have both had much more. I just can't see Hoskins making it at this point. Maybe a PS guy...but that is it.
 
I have to agree Hoskins will not make it egnew will make it before hoskins does
 
So how does Jordan's suspension affect that roster spot? I'm a little slow with details like that.....
 
Kyle Williams is a beast. Brenner should have had some help trying to block him. He beats a lot of guys.
 
How many preseason games have they played? A bit premature to pick an opening day roster until you see some of these positional battles play out in preseason.

Every year somebody lights it up in camp then craps the bed in the games. Nannee maybe? I am excited for the game this weekend to get a first-hand look at our team.
