ESPN - Miami Dolphins Opening Day 53 Roster - James Walker

So how does Jordan's suspension affect that roster spot? I'm a little slow with details like that.....

I think it is he is on the roster but his spot does not count so it will go to someone else and then someone is gone when his suspension is over. Could be wrong though.

D. Jordan will NOT count against the 53 until his return from suspension. This will save Fede or A. Johnson spot on the squad for the time being.

Pouncey will NOT count against the 53 IF he is placed on short term PUP eligible to return as early as Week 6 or as late as Week 8. If not activated by Week 8 he must be played on season ending IR. (Pouncey can practice will the team starting Week 6 and not be activated to full status.)

Replace Daniel Thomas with Gillislee. Replace Egnew with Lynch. And replace Damien or Damian Williams, doesn't matter which, with Hoskins.

I agree with Thomas for Gill, but preseason games will decide eggy and Lynch. I like both Williams, and think Gator may need another year on PS before being brought up. I would sub Shelley for Fede. I said it before the start of camp and have seen nothing to change my mind, Shelley is not a NFL starter and not a very good NFL backup, and to date Fede is balling.

But as we all know a lot can change once the preseason games start.

How many preseason games have they played? A bit premature to pick an opening day roster until you see some of these positional battles play out in preseason.

So I'm going to assume you don't understand the concept of speculation?? We all know that the preseason games are going to change some things, but the point of this thread is to make predictions now with the intel we have to date. It's never too early to speculate, there were some doing it the day after the draft.

You are correct is your thinking that there will be a few that step up when the lights go on, and make us change our minds. But the point of this thread is to name a starting 53 based on what we know to this point. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff is doing the same thing daily.

They should do them before OTA's, then. Or even after the draft. Silly exercise as you can speculate on many things prematurely.
