Espn roster rankings

Calling Shelly Smith an average starter may be premature at this point as he has never started. Agree on OV but he must continue improving just to get playing time in that group.
Stiil lots of unknowns with all the new players and coaches.

I think Pouncey and Vernon need to be brought up at least one level, Wheeler down one, and Smith needs to be brought down to Not Enough Information.

There are a few others that I am on the fence with agreeing or disagreeing with at the moment.

I find it interesting as well, and definitely deserves another look. OV did have 11 sacks but only 5 QB hits, and was average vs the run.

Pouncey was great in pass blocking (#1) but, not so on the run last year.

Last year he was not as good as normal, but he has proven to be a better run blocker in years past, just my opinion, but he is one of the top 3 centers in the NFL when he is healthy, and just good starter seems a bit low.

Pouncy is a very good center and probably deserves to be higher. I wonder if they took into account the out the field stuff.

Totally agree on past years when he was a complete center on both but, last year was not the case. He did struggle on the run, along with every other guy on the team.

Yea, that was what I was thinking was the reason, but if they did, that makes it a very inconsistent evaluation, because it is supposed to be on talent and only talent. I am very sure they did not give a player that was the top boy scout a higher grade just because they were much better behaved then all the other players.

No FF, all the grades and ranks are based on play.

Forgot to ask you how much you "watch" radio from your earlier post? lol

It's on the computer there for I am watching it even as i listen to the interviews.
That plus color charts are pretty to look at however they make no sound :idk:

Usually only listen to Joe Rose.

OV is without question at least average. Can't follow the thinking that would think he is below at this point.

My main gripe is Brent Grimes is elite. Top 5 CB

And I agree Vernon is average but smith is probably not enough information at this point who knows turner and thomas might start at the guards

OV is not below average....Pouncey is a top center....and how can Charles Clay be judged one of the top 100 players of 2013 by his peers and only be a good starter?

Cortland Finnegan is not below average because he had an orbital injury last year...at worst he is average.

These things are offseason fodder..pass the time kinda stuff....all that matters is how many games we win in 2014.

If the O-line raises its performance far beyond 2013, if Bill Lazor adds some creativity and imagination to our offense, if Ryan Tannehill takes the next step, if we stay healthy......etc etc etc

On paper....we have the potential to get there...now they have to go out and make it happen!
