Could be that money isn’t his motivation since he has more than enough to live the rest of his life.

And if money is his motivation, then he’s one year closer to that big pay day than he would’ve been by staying in college another year. By the time he’s 25, QBs might be nearing the $100M AAV contract. So in theory he could be walking away from a prime earning season.

If you believe he’s only a backup.

Ewers isn’t your classic 7th round pick.

Personally I think he’s pretty talented. Would’ve gladly taken him in the third round, based on talent.

There is a reason he was offered $8M to play college ball.

As someone who’s seen a lot of him, I’m happy to have him. Especially after all the slop we’ve called backups the last few years who didn’t possess 1/10th of his talent.

I can understand that. But from someone who has seen nothing of him, it's weird the vibes people are getting for a 7th rounder.
