FA Center Kyle Cook

Would this be the same Kyle Cook who Miami got after he was released by Minny (?) then traded Jerryworld?

If so, pass.... metaphorically speaking

Did anyone see how bad Pouncey was at Center @ Florida his last year there (only year playing Center)? He is now an NFL Center..... and one we are craving for. Give Smith and others some time in training camp before wanting to reach for **** players that are not wanted by other teams.

Wouldn't that be what Cook would be if we signed him. Just a band aid till Pouncey got back?

Yes your right it would essentially be a band aid !But you are better of in my opinion if you can somewhat stop the bleeding as soon as possible! Which means bringing in either a Cook or even Satele! Otherwise your choices may get real slim and bad and your season may be shot! Especially since we dont know exactly how long Pouncey will be gone! Hopefully just 4 games but who knows!

The more I think f it the more I'm thinking we are in an unnecessary panic.

1. I think Pouncey will be back sooner than we think.
2. Nate Garner has started NFL games at Center and I can't remember many bad snaps.

Let's not let practice reports change the fact that Garner has played Center before and done fine. I've been here a long time and sometimes folks put more stock in these practices then what's gone on in actual games:

1. Brian Hartline was gonna get cut in favor of Clyde Gates and Roberto "Ankle weights" Wallace in the 2012 camp because he missed to much camp even though he was the only NFL WR on the roster.
2. Samuda had beaten out Jerry last year according to FH then he was cut.

Be careful not to get too caught up in camp.

Those who wait usually screw themselves in the end! Kind of like last year Ireland hesitated and screwed the line by going for a bandaid!

Its also been said that sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.

Nope. That is Ryan Cook.

Too many cooks spoil the main course... or something like that?

Cook was a starter for Cinci last year, playing 1071 snaps, just turned 31, ad is a FA. Last year, he ranked #24, was above average on the run, and below average on the pass, giving up 5 sacks, 3 hits, and12 hurries. He is similar to Colledge, not quite as good but, did not have the ups and downs he did.

IMO,he is much better option than Samson.

The equipment manager or the janitor at team headquarters is a better option than Satele

Its also been said that sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.

So if you are a GM would you really subscribe to that? Whats it going to hurt in bringing in another center? Personally I think i would have all bases covered! But whatever it is just another year of possibly missing post season because of moves and non moves like this!

Pouncey is the difference maker. If he misses a couple of games, you go with what you have to get through it. Past that, you need to decide the breaking point to make a move. Is it 4 games, 6, 8? Tuff choice, and when you sign a vet, a young guy is going to lose a roster spot. We may need to add a vet OT as well.
