I have done this exercise before but let's take the Fanspeak rankings and create a list of players of interest within certain ranges.
As a test case, we'll take the #16 draft order in each round, using the 2017 distribution of compensatory picks, and we'll say that any player ranked within 20% of Rich Hill's chart value of the #16 pick in the round is "within range".
These are the players at each stage that would go on my short list for being picked. I've bolded the values that I often find too compelling to pass up:
Mid-1st (Rankings #010-040): WR Christian Kirk, OG Billy Price, DT Vita Vea, LB Roquon Smith, CB Tarvarus McFadden, CB Denzel Ward, CB Jaire Alexander, CB Josh Jackson, S Derwin James, S Ronnie Harrison
Mid-2nd (Rankings #041-070): RB Royce Freeman, RB Rashaad Penny, TE Mark Andrews, OT Orlando Brown, OG Isaiah Wynn, DE Marcus Davenport, LB Malik Jefferson
Mid-3rd (Rankings #071-112): RB Sony Michel, RB Bo Scarborough, WR Simmie Cobbs, TE Hayden Hurst, TE Mike Gesicki, OG Will Hernandez, DE Clelin Ferrell, DE Dorance Armstrong, CB Holton Hill, CB Isaiah Oliver, S Damon Webb
