Feeley = Deer in headlights

i guess feeley= road block to a chance at a winning season with his play so far.
We need a road block on the OL. Right now its nothing but a bump.

How many beers did you have when you were sitting at the bar?? ;)

Hahaha I wish. I was actually watching it while I was working. I'm a corporate trainer for Macaroni Grill and I just so happened to luck out when they assigned me the bar and ****tail areas to watch over during VIP and friends night. Unfortunately, the tv's are put on mute so the Italian music can be heard in the restaurant. Should've seen me though, I was so sly trying to watch the game. If any of the regional or area directors saw me, they would've fired me on the spot.

i agree our line looks bad and thats being nice, but aj looks just as bad. i hope they both pull it together because im a dolphin fan i pull for the jersey not the player, ive stated my opinion on how bad ajs looked since we have picked him up, because people has dogged jay since he's been a dolphin and post like ajs the next comming of marino when he's looked more like lucas with no legs.when feidler played poorly i have no problem admitting that, feeley should be treated the same way. i feel this team still suffers post superstar qb blues. and we grasp for straws thinking aj is gonna fill that void. for the fins sake i hope i am proven wrong, that whould be one great tasting humble pie

The ONLY reason that people are saying "deer in the headlights" is because that moron Theisman said it. Please, look at the film. He had no such look. You can make yourself believe anything if you try hard enough.

yea, he didn't look like a deer in headlights, he looked scared sh1tless. imo our next qb is in college.

I completely disagree that he looks like a deer in the headlights but, on the other hand I wouldn't blame him one bit if he did.

I don't remember how many stitches he got in his chin the other night but, I know it was over 10 and it happened when he got annihilated by Justin Smith.....Anybody that comes back in the game after that monster shot and then leads the team to tie the game at the end, has my respect and If you don't mind me saying it, he should have your respect too.
I agree, I just hope that he gets back to the way he was in preseason - He had a huge grin on his face all the time... I dont think he has smiled yet..

It's too early to judge his composure level after one full game behind an o-line "playing" so bad that even my dad said hes never seen a unit look/play so bad in his 40 something years of watching football.

The Line was way too inconsistant for AJ in his first start since 2002 so I wasn't surprised to see him confused... frankly most of the offense looked the same way AJ did. Miami is working with a completely new backfield and line. The only true test and analysis can be done as time goes by and when the whole offense plays with more cohesion. That way you can eliminate a lot of the variables that contributed to the way AJ played and looked last sunday.

Put in the same situation at the same time, Tom Brady would have looked the same way and I bet he would be the first to admit it.

ok, but i still think that our next qb is in college.

He'll get better. They just need to get more creative with their play-calling and then EXECUTE...It seems like that has been the main problem with this offense for the past decade; they just don't execute the play where it looks right. It always looks awkward. Wade Smith's regression has me baffled. He played good for a rookie last year, puts on some muscle and plays horrible. McKinney looked good in replace of Ruddy last yr. I didn't expect St. Clair to be a difference maker. RG is a crap shoot. Jerman looked good last year and Whitley...I don't know...I just wish Vernon Carey would come on with Damion McIntosh and Jeno and shows these muthaz how it's done. I just have a feeling it is more the coaching and scheme than anything. Remember Spurrier's line and how terrible it was with good players like Samuels, Jansen, and Randy Thomas?

I'm not sure yet. If taking stitches to the chin were a requirement for respect though, I'd expect to see alot of Fiedler bashers retracting their assanine, downright disrespectful offensive statements about him after he played thru a broken thumb. Then again, what has AJ done in two games to warrant this massive respect I am supposed to be giving? Is it by a default respect?

And quoting him as looking like deer in headlights does not strip somebody of respect. I can't help it the man looks confused.
AJ is pretty brave to play behind that offensive line. For comparison, let us attempt to remember when Jay had that kind of pressure. Ah, yes, the last time I remember our line playing that bad last year was against New England in the snow. You remember that game? 12 - 0, and Jay looked like a deer in the headlights too! Thing is, AJ can still make plays with that kind of pressure where as Jay got completely clobbered, frustrated, and confused.

Take a look at the stats:

J. Feidler (with severe pass rush and Ricky Williams gaining 68yds also Konrad played in this game) - 13/31 111yds 0 TD 2 INT's 0 rushing yds 5 sacks (46 yds lost, so much for his athletic ability)

AJ (with severe pass rush and Lamar Gordon gaining 22yds and a 2nd string FB) - 21/39 218yds 1 TD 2 INT's 3 yds rushing 2 sacks (17 yds lost)

That is the difference and people need to realize that AJ is performing admirably given the situation. Just imagine if AJ actually had a decent OL and hell, why not throw in a Ricky Williams and Rob Konrad type backfield while we're at it?!

Growing pains people. Will we be a great offense? not this year, but we will get better, we have no choice, it cant get worse, (knocks on wood).

You're right....we should put Jay back in. I mean after all, look at the way he lit up the Titans on opening day!

I love The Macaroni Grill in Ft Myers......the one is Naples....ehhhh, not so much.....haven't been able to figure out why though.

Could be, the long drive up to FM makes me hungrier, so the food naturally tastes better when I finally get it. :dunno:
