lol...I remember that<when he got slapped on the backside and he started like havin a seizure...lol...
don't forget when he dislocated his finger in San Fran and ran over to the sideline, literally like a girl skipping, and holding his hand up in the air for all to see

I'm sorry, I was never impressed by that crap. It's good to see it didn't go over in the locker room with the real guys as well. I've never seen a grown man with a hurt a$$ cheek or dislocated finger prance around like that on OR off a football field.

You played football with steel cleats? Maybe the game has changed since I played but did you mean that literally?

The bottom line on Feeley is that he was unable to beat out Jay Fiedler and Gus Frerotte for a starting job, or even overcome Koy Detmer and Sage Rosenfels for a backup job.

Spielman blew it bad on that trade and we have practically nothing to show for it. Tom Curtis has a very good article on Feeley in the latest Dolphin Digest.

Anytime I have ever read articles regarding Feeley and they come from either a player, former player, coach or scout they all say that AJ needs time in a system to develop. And they all say that he has the physical skills to be a very good, not just good, quarterback. The advice is always have patience to see what he can do. It's too early to tell if he will ever reach or not reach his potential.

The only time I ever read that AJ is a bust or that he will never make it in the game, the article or post is written by journalists or fans whose advice is get rid of him.

LOL watch what you say people.

I have 2 words for you all

JASON TAYLOR

That guy gets dinged almost every game and all u see is him fall to the ground, clench his hands together and stick his butt up in the air.

He is forever rolling and making a big old play out of it then he is back on the field 2 plays later.

It happens more often then not lately.

BUt I am sure this doesn't fly well in the locker room either huh?

AJ has the tools in practice but on the field he doesn't. He might have the arm but AJ doesn't have the smart decision making it requires to be a good (or very good) QB. Just because you have the tools and arm to be a QB doesn't make you a good QB, your decision making under pressure is a very underrated part of being a QB. AJ is like a little girl under pressure. Throwing on the practice field and in the game are 2 different things. What has AJ ever done in his football career that gives people the thought that he is going to turn into this fabulous QB overnight? Give it up Feeley supporters, right now Gus is the best thing we got and the truth is our QB for next year is not even on this roster!

Not trying to argue here.

But what do you think his teammates remember?

Him jumping up and down or the very next play when he threw a 35 yard TD to Chambers.

I seriously think some of you make issues out of nothing.

But yeah, he can be a little dramatic:lol:

Here's what I think..for what its worth...

You have to be born with a talent to throw a football like AJ. Its not something that can be developed or improved..if it did...someone would have figured out how to put a cannon on Jay Fiedler.

The mental aspect of his game...can be coached and improved..but only to an extent. AJ has to decide to work his *** off to develop his raw throwing ability into being an NFL QB. That has to come from AJ himself.

Saban is the type of guy who will work with AJ..to the extent that he believes AJ is giving 110% at all times. If he didnt have the raw talent...he'd be gone by now..no question.

He's also still young. I hate to say it...but many of us werent all that mature at 27 either. AJ still has some growing up to do. He doesnt have much time to do it though if he wants a career in the NFL.

If he decides he wants to be a starting NFL QB...quits making excuses..and develops the intangibles needed to succeed....and I repeat....no I SHOUT!!!! IF....he has the potential to be the QB all of us want in Miami. We have the coaching staff in place to help him succeed. He has all the tools available to him..to turn him into a Pro Bowl QB. AJ has to step up though.

All you guys should really hope AJ works at it...and learns to be a QB. No one can debate the kid can chuck. He's in the perfect situation to succeed..and it would be awsome for our team if he could do just that.

That's an excellent article, and it was spot on about Feeley. He has great physical tools but hasn't progressed mentally. And both Konrad and Trestman mentioned that he should not really be judged by last year, hwich is true. Unfortunately he didn't do enough this year to win the job, although there is no doubt it was slanted all along he had a chance and didn't run with it.

another problem with Feely is he doesnt prepare himself for the game. his poor performance in practice says it all. im not so sure he is taking his job seriously. honestly, if you were in his shoes wouldnt you prepare yourself? skills cant only take you so far as a quarterback if you dont prepare & get yourself mentally & physically ready for each game.

Very, very true words.

Excellent appraisal and as close to the truth as anything that has been said. Just look at the outstanding player in any sport ie Michael Jordan, practicing on his own time as well, self disipline is the bottom line....(very hard to accomplish as most of us will admit)

Anyone who says Saban didnt judge him on last year is blind as he wasn't given that "fair" shot at getting the starters job till Gus tried to play his way out of it!

I don't see how or why people keep saying this. Saban had ALL OFFSEASON to determine who was in the lead for our starting QB, could it be possible he saw that Frerotte was ahead of Feeley before the preseason started??? And besides, Feeley had 2 starts, Gus had 3 and one of Gus's he only threw 5 passes, I'd say they both had the same amount of opportunity
