Feeley Should Start

IF AJ had led our team to a touchdown last night (and not the Fluke of luck that Gus had) then we wouldn't even be having this conversation. AJ has shown us that he can adapt his game, he took less risks last night, but in the West coast O, it is the recievers job to get YAC, and none of our boys did it last night. If aj completes 16 of 20 with the starting O, there is going to be a touchdown or 2 in there...
AJ also did that in the end of the 3rd quarter (the impressive drive you speak of).... that was versus Pitt's 3rd string D.

If Feeley can do that in the first quarter then i'll share your enthusiasm. Thats why i say start feeley next weekend and we'll see. But i guarantee you won't see 16/20 numbers next week.

My point being that both are a risk to depend on for the season, if someone is pushing for one to start over the other because of long term potential to the team, then why not start Sage (for lack of a better available choice) for the next game. If he does well, then that might wake Gus/AJ up from their preseason slumber. As it stands now, neither one has proved anything to me (except that they both suck).
Unless Couch has a mircle workout...

Scratch, that, either Gus or AJ is GOING to be the starter, PUNISHING THEM by starting Sage is just going to set our offense back even further, it is too late to work someone else in.

I doubt there's one person on this entire thread that thinks we have the qb situation solidified. Yes we dont have a peyton manning or tom brady running this offense. we all know that. but given our slim pickings we all have our opinions on which is the best choice

:hmph:

If you re-ready original post it says nothing about Ferotte being in the plans long term.....Guy is at the end of his Career ..

Huh? Better read through some of the posts again.... You might not be, but I recall some posters who are.

I get what you're saying about the Phins long term interests, but I am not convinced that either one of them are worth the gamble. If I had to choose the starter for the next game I'd let Sage start and maybe send a message to both of them.
Try and ignore the ones that aren't up to speed and stay with the rest of us. You're only stooping to their level, and in a sense justifying their validity, by letting it bother you and responding to it.
As I've said already, if Saban thinks Sage, or even Berlin, might be a better option than Feeley, more power to them.

AJ was 6/6 in the second quarter. Against Pitts second string.

C'mon man, WildBill makes a good point and you respond with hyperbole? Your response is nothing but smack, it doesn't debate his point.

How am I exagerating? Aren't they going backwards on offense?

First game AJ had good numbers for a couple of drives, he didn't force any throws, nor did he throw an interception, second game he is "demoted" to working second string, defense plays crappy and can't get the offense back on the field, AJ gets limited time with any of the starters and is forced to play against 2nd and 3rd string, at which point he obviously had a bad game. The third game he knows his job is on the line, heck maybe even his entire career, and what does he do? he doesn't force the ball (game 2) He goes through his progressions, nothing is there and he takes what is given to him, with is the short routes.

Meanwhile, the gusketeer fanboys watched thier QB get lucky on one touchdown pass, and after that they saw Gus complete an ambismal 49Percent of his passes in three games, two of those with the first teamers. Take away Gus's lucky touchdown, and we don't even have a competition.

AJ has completed 65percent of his passes, has been sacked once, and only has one intereception. You would think by the way most of you people bash the man that he had raped flipper, and stolen your dads truck for all the hatred that has come out against the man.

Gus clearly has not played well, and his overall QB rating is almost exactly what his Career rating is. 73. That is with padding of a lucky "opps!!! I mean Alright!!!" touchdown.

This is stolen from Nublar's thread This is something that Saban said when he first got here

New Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban wants to build a foundation for long-term success rather than trying to rush a turnaround from a 4-12 season.

"I think we have some good players, and I think we have some issues that we have to try to solve," Saban said. "Whether we can do that all in one year ... you've got to look at the big picture. Do you make value decisions that are going to be best long-term for the organization, or do you compromise the future of the organization by making short-term decisions to get better quickly?

Now, can anyone reconcile this to mean that gus should be the starter?

Gus is definitely a "stop gap" option. But I have a hard time equating the question..."Do you make value decisions that are going to be best long-term for the organization?" ... with starting AJ either. I have to be honest with you. In the beginning of camp I was rooting for AJ. But every time that I see him make a pitiful decision that leads to bad results for the team, my support slides further and further in the other direction. My confidence in his skills and game management suffers each time he "looks like a deer in the headlights" during a game.
