Feeley To Start Bears Game

I guess Feeley's stats are better than Frerotte's in training camp since Saban said his decision would be based on stats..Still, it don't mean jack yet..

I'm happy for this, although it doesn't mean at all that AJ is ahead in the race. If Gus would have started this game instead of the second, it would have meant that Gus was clearly ahead in the race and that would have been dissapointing cause I'm hoping AJ will win.

I'll believe it when I see it...not a big deal this early anyway.

Starting Feeley is the best way to not tell us anything, particularly given that Gus got held out. This could be what Saban wants to do for a thousand reasons. It could mean anything from Linehan and Saban deciding that AJ has won the competition to them deciding that giving him the first start will give him an opportunity to fail so they can award Gus the job.

I hope Gus does start just to piss off people like you....

If I were running the Phins I would start Ferrotte due to his overall greater experience (especially in Linehan's offense). I just don't think A.J. is going to pan out. Part of this idea comes from the fact that he couldn't beat out Joey Harrington at Oregon, Harrington has been unimpressive thus far in his career. Tedford's systems help QB's dramatically at the college level as well. Why couldn't Feeley beat him out?

Ultimately, I think the Phins will have to draft or sign another QB. They should of traded for Brunell or waited on the Feeley trade so they could have picked up Kerry Collins. Collins' big arm in Linehan's pass happy offense would have been scary looking after the offense adjusted. I thought that the Phins should have traded down and gotten Jason Campbell or Rodgers. J.J. Arrington would have been availible and heck you could have always traded for Travis Henry. (-:

There's no way that Saban has a firm idea of who will ne number one. I also don't think he would be setting up AJ to fail, because he's not Wanny and his pick for QB is not likely to be disputed no matter which one it is. Starting Gus would have been a tip of his hat, but since AJ is somewhat of the incumbent, he should get first dibs.
