Why So Serious?
I kno Aj is better he doesnt get any chances
Finland said:Actually, your argumentation is far from correct. Clearly an infallible coach may leave a QB that sucks on the roster for many reasons. Say what it is you want to say to the people that think Saban is error free or that likel Feeley. Why have them play a game or answer a poll to set them up. Spit it out already.
I think Feeley has been kept because we need him as a backup for our career backup. I think Saban should have gone QB and done what it took to go #1 in the draft. We may never be that high again.

I don't mind being misleading but I don't see how I am.

Remember the number of teams Spielman had to fight for that 2nd rounder? And by team(s) I mean 0. No one even tried to outbid us because if he does anything more than back up the rest of his career, it will equal pigs flying.
Come to terms with it can quit crying on the boards.

Frerotte is not here because anyone expects him to be the qb of the future... he is just the guy that knows the new offense being put in. That's why this was never really a competition; it's simply not realistic to think that Feeley, in a few weeks, could get to the point where he understands the offense the way the veteran Frerotte does... the way Saban and Linehan would like their field general to understand the offense while everyone around him is still learning it.
This is actually good, not bad, for Feeley's long-term prospects with the Dolphins. Let Frerotte take the bumps and bruises while everybody's learning which direction to go. If Feeley actually learns the offense and has any kind of ability, Saban will certainly get him playing time as the season progresses, knowing that Frerotte cannot be the starter on opening day next year. That way Feeley doesn't get shell-shocked should the Dolphins get creamed coming out of the gate (not entirely unthinkable), and gets his shot with an offense around that knows what they're doing a hell of a lot better than they did opening day.
I mean seriously... I do think the o-line will start to gel and eventually be better than last year... but does anyone think the opening day line is going to help their qb anymore than last year's did? I think starting Feeley opening day is just setting him up to fail.
As long as Feeley shows more long-term promise than Brock Berlin, he will get a shot with the Dolphins, almost certainly later this season. But expecting Feeley to start from opening day isn't realistic, and it isn't even the best thing for Feeley's career in Miami.
Hisn'WithYour'n said:By your logic the statement: Feeley "sucks"
is equal to the statement: Feeley is a career backup.
In what world does a good coach want any player that "sucks" on his team?

FinsNYanksFan13 said:If Saban sits Gus for Feeley it's because Saban feels Feeley is a better QB and gives the team a better chance to win. Saban doesn't strike me as the type who plays favorites. He's all about winning and he'll do what's right to put the Dolphins in a winning situation!
