Fiedler endorses Tannehill

I would say that Gus Frerotte was on the same level as Fiedler. It's sad when we long for the Fiedler years though. Just another testament to how irrelevant this team has been since then.

Funny, but Frerotte had one of his best year's with us. That dude could chuck the rock for sure, but just couldn't be efficient enough over a long period of time

I'd give practically anything to go back to the Wannstache years compared to what this team has produced over the last 8-9 years, so I don't know how any of you can bash Fiedler, no he's wasn't Marino (which I think is honestly why everyone judges him so harshly, HUGE shoes to fill) but he was serviceable and gave us a shot at the playoffs multiple times, more than I can say for anyone since him.

You don't want those years back. Ireland is a great GM compared to Wannstache. Are you joking?

Wannstache singlehandedly drove the team into the ground, wasting that great defense. He never gave Fiedler legit competition. He thought that running the ball to Ricky Williams and checkdowns from Fiedler was good enough.

Chicago fans warned us. We didn't listen. Early success was achieved in spite of him and his piss poor personnel decisions. As the years progressed, Wayne stripped Dave of his GM duties because he was so terrible.

Early success led to mediocrity and then a losing team. Why? His offensive gameplan was archaic and he was terrible at personnel acquisition.

Drafting a CB when you already have two lockdown corners was foolish, especially when Drew Brees was on the board....Fiedler was so great so he stood by his man.

It's pretty incredible how badly Nick Saban botched the QB position. Let Frerotte walk even after he'd had a pretty productive season, passed on Aaron Rodgers, traded for Culpepper instead of signing Brees. Picked Joey Harrington to be the backup... good Lord we deserved to be lousy that year.

He laid his heart on the line?? I never seen Fiedler do anything that said ohh what a tough guy. He wasnt diving over piles and putting his body in harms way like a Brent Favre or something lol. Hell he was the reason why we couldnt win, he couldnt throw pass 15 yards. What is this make stuff up day, today we going to make Fiedler a tough guy lol

Remember what Wannstache said when they asked him about Trent Green being available in free agency? (when he was in his prime) "What can Tent Green do that Jay Fiedler can't?"

Idk Dave. Maybe put up great stats, be a Pro Bowl QB and be a much better QB than Fiedler?

Thanks Wannstache.

Not sure who has the last laugh but Trent Green in Miami:
0-4
In those 4 games he had 5TDs and 7INTs.

Just saying.....

Somebody needs to go re watch some videos.

Great to see Jay Fiedler getting right behind the Dolphins. He wasn't blessed with the greatest arm but he overcame obstacles and always gave great effort. I seem to recall that he was an engineering graduate from Dartmouth in the Ivy League, who went undrafted and was told by a number of coaches (including Parcells great buddy, Al Groh) that he simply wasn't good enough for the NFL. He was seen as a Jewish intellectual related to the great Arthur Fiedler, renowned conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra. However, he didn't listen to the experts, he followed his dream and became a solid starter. He loved to compete and gave of his best.
Where Ryan Tannehill has a far superior arm and has come to the team as a 1st round draft pick, he could actually learn something from Fiedler in terms of hunger to make it and love of competition. Not everyone is blessed with the incredible quick release and natural talent of Dan Marino. Jay Fiedler was a gutsy competitor who always gave 100%.
Thank you to Jesse Agler, for a great interview.

Jay Fiedler played with passion every game. He brought a energy and excitement to the Fins that I haven't seen for years. He was limited at times yes, but when he and Chambers got rolling it was great to watch. They kept trying to replace him and he never complained he just kept rolling.

Dumbstadt, and his marriage to noodle arm, took a very talented team and ran it into the ground. His four year extension set us back six. Hennes four year experiment set us back as well. Do you remember dw jumping on Lamar Smiths back after he broke the record for carries in that win? Lamar could not get out of bed for three days. He was ineffective against the Raiders, and of course our opening drive ended with a 90 something yard pick six ala noodle arm.
