Ray Lucas is easy -- he stank.
Brian Griese really is difficult to explain if you're trying to bash Jay.
Yet Ray Lucas led the Jets to the Playoffs with a 10-6 record
Brian Griese also was a pro Bowler and played decent after that and was the known scapegoat for Denver. H esure did play well in TB didn't he?
I think some of you undervalue the competition Fiedler had. I also believe that some of you don't truly see and appreciate what Fiedler did when he was here.
He did what no other QB from a Pro Bowler to a guy who led his team to thePlayoffs couldn't do. Fiedler simply won.
He played solid for us under Chan Gailey
Amazing how he started to deteriorate when Turner tried tomake him a apocket passer even throw he thrived under Gailey as a playaction bootleg passer.
Fact in the Dallas game, Philly game, Washington game all his great games in MIAMI what was the common theme? Open playbook, boot legs and let him create plays with his feet.
Now look at the games he stunk at Turner stubbornly called for him to be a pocket passer.
Turner didn't utilize his strengths. If you have a QB qho until 2004 was rated one of the tops QB'S rating wise when out of the pocket why are you gonna make him a pocket passer when under Gailey and letting Fiedler move around we made it to 2 straight 11-5 season.
Alot of you wanted a scapegoat for our misfortune and you point to Fiedler. That's fine.
But IMO it was always Turner and Wanny. Fiedler thrived under Gailey when healthy. When Turner took over and let Fiedler throw Dallas, Philly, Detroit it was amazing that Fiedler was accurate and poised. But the moment Turner had to be stubborn and limit Fiedler and take away audibles Fiedler stunk.
I will say this. How many times did we go into halftime with a 21-10 or 17-3 lead where Fiedler was on fire? Allot. Now hat always happened? Wanny got conservative and we blew the lead.
Fiedler just won. TB and Baltimores defense didn't seem to have a problem with lack of offense and on their SB runs both times their offenses were worse then Miami's.
