Finally, Cortland Finnegan's contract numbers

He is not an upgrade over Carroll

And you've come to this conclusion how? You would have been comfortable having Nolan Caroll as your #2 with taylor and davis rotating in?

I'm sorry but you're high.

Last year I had multiple agents question the Phillip Wheeler contract. Getting same reaction from couple to Finnegan deal now.

he is right... Finnegan robbed us blind

Armando's a tool and that contact is far from robbery.

You not liking the signing doesn't make it a bad deal.

If you wanna be a homer fine, but when a guy is coming off 2 awful seasons and is entering his age 30 season it's pretty shocking to see him get this much money upfront. Better corners went for less....Alterraun Verner basically went for the same annual term, Tarrell Brown, Walter Thurmond, Captain Munnerlyn, Corey Graham, Charles Tillman are all making less. It's a bad deal...it shouldn't burn us financially but if we're relying on him on the boundary we're going to be screwed more than likely. Really need Jamar to step up...

better corners, with much less injury cornerns are signing deals for considerably less. We are overpaying for one of the worst corners in the nfl last season. Bad bad deal

I'm going to let the dude play at least 1 down for us before I say this is a bad deal.

Jamar will definitely have to make big strides this year, that goes without being said for a second round draft pick.

I think Finnegan will only help aid in his development. I still think he will contribute and while he may not ever go back to his former self especially at his age, I still think a fully healthy Finnegan can bring alot to the table.

Refused to read after 'homer.' Has to be the most used and most ridiculous word used on Finheaven.

i don't understand why we had to give him that kind of guaranteed coin when younger alternative options coming off better tape and with more upside were still out there...the only good thing i can take from this contract is there's a one year out...well there should be it's only a 2 year total pact...but if he gets hurt in camp and never plays for you you just gave him $5.5 mil...and you gave him that if he blows too

coyle must really want this guy...i think we bid against ourselves on this one...anything less than top 3 corner for ya on the field 60 percent of the snaps guy and this contract fails

It isn't like the Dolphins are strapped for cap space and even after this move still have one of the largest amounts available. A $4.5 million cap hit for a starting cornerback is not absurd.

Yeah he struggled the past couple of year(injuries hurt him big time last season) and maybe he turns out to be over the hill and doesn't work out. We can cut our losses after 2014 and move on. We paid Patterson more last season and he only played 6 games. This move imo is more about adding more of a veteran presence to this team and some leadership. His value might be felt more when it comes to setting an example and helping out the young guys like Taylor and Davis. Ultimately we want Taylor to become the starter opposite of Grimes, maybe that happens this year or next year.

Don't really mind taking a chance on Finnegan. If it works out, it could pay off big time. Some times in this league you have to take risks.

Dolphins cap space today, according to NFLPA: $19,185,752. They have 57 players under contract.

Rest of AFC East cap space: #NYJ $27.829M with 64 players under contract. #Bills $17.645M with 71 players. #Pats $16.964M with 58 players.

LOL at Armando. I don't love the deal but the Wheeler contract is a $13 million mistake spread over multiple years. If Finnegan sucks it's $5.5 million all in a year where we look to be comfortably under the cap.
