Finnegan signs with Miami

Some of you guys act like it's your money being spent.

THIS JUST IN: it's not your money!

Basically. Nor is this this deal is not even close to being bad. No way did he get a massive gurantee. It's probably very similar to the Starks contract. This isn't crippling like a Phillip Wheeler deal, that's going to leave us with dead money when he's eventually cut.

Finnegan and Grimes I'll take it gotta look at the big picture Finnegan or Nolan Carroll?? I take finnegan. Taylor or Davis in the slot sounds good to me let the young ones work there way up

He's gonna be #3 or #4. He will mentor the younger db's and if he can earn a #2 spot more power to him.

It's a win win for the Dolphins.

Well if you look at the defense were going linebacker in the draft. Still a lot of free agency left. Expect to see some peole cut and we will be in prime pouncing position lol.

hope the guaranteed money is low because if not it's a terrible signing for a terrible player

This guy is a vet that plays with passion and knows how to get under other players' skin. I'm sure he knows he's going to have to compete for the starting role, I don't see any harm in signing him. I'm fully aware that he ranked nearly dead-last as a cornerback last season according to PFF, but the guy has proven himself over many seasons as a reliable player, I'm definitely willing to give him a shot. Worst case scenario he's a solid backup.

****ing Omar is so bad. It is hilarious that this guy still has a job with the amount of people that refuse to read his stuff. The average salary for a starting CB might be 5.5M, but according to everything I've read about Finnegan, he's been well below average the last 2 seasons. I hope he steps it up man, we need people not getting roasted on that side of the field. Lets go Court, earn that money.

I can link you a half dozen articles praising the Falcons for letting Grimes walk because they guaranteed he could never be the same player. If "everything you read" was true then the NFL would be a very different place.

Word on Finnegan is that he is a film junkie and he did a great job teaching the young CB's in St Louis how to prepare.

I get the sense that Miami is trying to upgrade the veteran leadership in the locker room which was virtually nonexistent last season. You can see it in the moves. Its somIreland never "got."

Stop-gap to give the front office more time to make sure Taylor and Davis are worthy. If Taylor and Davis don't prove themselves this year, they'll draft a CB next year. Just a guess.

On Finnegan offset language for $3 million bonus. If the $3 million comes from his base salary only, he must make 53 man roster.
That doesn't have to be the case, however for Rams to get $3 million back if it comes in bonuses or guaranteed money.
