Its simple bankruptcy law. Contract can be voided with bankruptcy. The key word is can be, not always.
Yes but the league can and will step in to stop that from happening. It may have to go to court again if RW tries to sue the NFL on the grounds that he's being denied the right to make a living but I doubt he'll win.
The NFL can place sanctions on a team that signs Ricky if he wants to play hardball and they will do that to protect the integrity of any future contract signed. I believe Ricky is screwed and that's what he deserves.
