Don't mind the signing.
Not like there's been a recent QB that sucked in NY, bounced around till he found the right situation and looked decent/good.
It’s not like there is more than one actually.

Geno and Darnold. I think there are others. It’s not like there is more than one actually.
I don't necessarily agree with it, but Grier/ McDaniel don't want anyone actually competing with Tua. They probably just want someone to hold down the fort when he goes down.

The theory was presented as Zach Wilson is viewed as the QB of the future by the Dolphins.Uh, I don't think anyone is signing Zach Wilson to a long-term deal.
He's in prove-you-belong-in-the-NFL territory. A 1-year deal is what his talent gets him. His work ethic, attitude, practice habits and potential on-field contributions will be the thing that gets him extended as a back-up.
Who could’ve competed with Tua?
Yeah, but both Smith and Darnold played for two different teams between leaving the Jests and having a decent season, so it's the team that signs him next year that will reap the benefits. After seeing geno and sam darnold's rebound, maybe miami is thinking. Maybe the former jets qb have potential but jets are a qb killing organization ha. It's whatever to me. I would rather a good veteran back up. A qb will have to read quick and have good anticipation to fill in tuas spot with how this offense goes. He's not like that and uses his athleticism to buy time, idk we'll see. I still would want miami to get a qb mid rd. Maybe mccord
I thought the ghosts thing was Darnold.Maybe Wilson can see the ghosts from hard rock stadium and talk to them and get them to lift the curse.
You are right !I thought the ghosts thing was Darnold.
Why do I need to “point you in the right direction”? Point is they did not want to spend money on a backup. Never get the “not far removed from being #2 overall” points that people try to make. Plenty of high pick QB busts over the years. Bottom line he is signed for 1 year that’s it. Not a big investment should also tell you how much faith they have in him. Can he work it out? Of course. Do I want him to work out? 100%. That said I also hope we barely need him. Continue to build an OL for TuaWhere else do you want to find a backup QB? Meanwhile, Zach has potential high upside and is not far removed from being #2 overall. All of that talent didn't just melt off. Maybe this is the right situation. Point me at the other backup for what is pennies for an NFL even backup contract with even close to a similar amount of potential upside? We just need to get it out of him.
But I don’t care about helping Tua get through his injuries anymoreThere are a lot of backups with more experience, that are also better system fits, that would have been better positioned to help us this year if Tua gets hurt. And money isn't the issue either. Those guys are cheaper than Wilson. Andy Dalton just got only 2 years and $8mm from Carolina, for example. Zach Wilson is not a backup. He is a flier on a potential Tua replacement in a few years. If they were concerned about winning games if/when Tua gets hurt, they would have signed a different backup QB. It is almost impossible to argue that Zach Wilson was the best backup QB available if the concern was winning games this year, if Tua gets hurt.
That was sort of my point about what their thinking must beBut I don’t care about helping Tua get through his injuries anymore
He’s done if he’s out this year.. so really what does it matter, we signed the guy to a one year deal for 6 million dollars, who cares, if Tua gets hurt throw him into the fire and let’s see what he does
Well then I’m confused as to what everyone is arguing about lolThat was sort of my point about what their thinking must be
Like Mike white? It’s not like there is more than one actually.
