Oh Richie :)
Richie is pretty reincarnated as an NFL'er :)

I guess Im just not very bright on this, I just don't get the motivation for MArtin to do this. I think he definitely is not right in the head and this is the issue. There is little if any positive outcome for Martin to make false accusations about bullying. I mean if its some preconceived plan he has to know there would be an endgame and if it wasn't happening then what would he gain. I don't see any monetary gain from this, he obviously played football well enough to be on an nfl roster because he was on one and still started every game he played for us. I personally feel that this guy is not right in the head. I know many people want to think this was some grand scheme but since his parents are lawyers and some people claim they masterminded this, they must know no case in court would be settled based on one voice mail with so much other evidence to consider. Also they must know that if these is no case the wells investigation would not help them. So with that being said there is one possible reason and that's MArtin has personality disorder issues or he is very stupid. Obviously two ivy league lawyers would not have concocted such a weak case that has no end game that gets him paid, except maybe what he would have got anyway
Personally I think it was a bunch of things building up (the beat writers have said that Martin was seething about being moved back to RT, and I think he did have a breakdown) and then he took really bad advice. I also think that whoever gave Martin advice was expecting Miami to do what they had the tendency of doing; shutting everybody out. Same with Incognito. I do not think Martin's camp was expecting the players to talk openly, expect Richie to do an interview, nor did they expect Richie's agent/attorney to give up all those texts. Everytime one of those things happened, the response from Martin's camp IMO was weak. And again, I've grown up with lawyers so I understand a lot of the legal stuff, and from what I saw we were making Martin's case weaker.
Now I don't doubt Martin was bugged by something, but I do think that the whole issue was more or less an attempt to not make him unsignable by another team. Problem is... hes basically done just that.
As we speak, the Steve Smith, Bayless and even Ryan Clark panel now has taken Incog's side, called him a scumbag but falsely maligned, and are blaming Martin for scapegoating him for his own shortcomings. Martin put Incog's career in jeopardy and left him hanging for months. Surprising. It's a delicate line to tread for these dopes, but even Clark said, he wouldn't want to play with Martin but Incog is the kind of warrior every team would want. As I said, the narrative is changing
My question would be why as a lawyer would you expect players to not speak out against acusations if they are not true. They had to also know that once they showed voicemails or texts they would the same I return at some point.
That's why this as some grand plan on MArtin's part makes no sense because there seems to be no logical endgame.
I agree with this. I don't think it was some grand plan but more of an overreaction by someone in the Martin's camp. They were shocked by what they heard in those voicemail and had to do something about it.
I think if they had took the time to calm down before releasing those initial voicemail, they could have handled it in-house. They could have brought it to the attention of the Dolphins to resolve whatever problems they saw. If the Dolphins did not resolve the situation to their satisfaction, then and only then should they have gone to the media.
Wonder if Incog will ultimately come out and sue martin for lost wages in civil court? or if he can. I'm not a lawyer so im not sure if it's possible but i'd like to see it happen
