Five reason why the Dolphins will be better than the NY Jets

How often do we see close games where one team allows 3 non offensive TDs? That's the definition of fluky especially for a coverage team like the jets that is usually near the top of the league under Westhoff.

Don't know or care. A win is what it is.

In 2010 Miami allowed 3 non offensive TDs to NE-KR, blocked FG return and INT return. Miami lost 41-14

In '09 when Miami had the fumble return and 2 KRs they beat the Jets by 5.

QFT. Even winning 6-3 is better than losing. With Sparano as OC and Ryan's love for the ground and pound even when the Jests don't have the personnel to pull it off, the Jests will probably find this out in 2012.

it's better than losing except when Mark sanchez is your QB and then winning doesn't matter.

W/ no OL, a run game half the year, mediocre WRs, mediocre QB play we still were in the top half in pts scored last year and top 10 for a good portion of the season. We won't be playing a lot of 6-3 games.

Not sure what your point is. Losing is losing just as winning is winning.

You are going to use his lone bad TD to INT ratio season as a rookie? The last 2 years he's thrown 43 TDs and 31 INts, Rivers has 14 more Tds the last 2 seasons but he's also thrown 2 more INTs and led his team to less wins in a weaker division.

Why wouldn't I. According to you, he led the Jets to the AFCC game with those numbers.

Only 14 more Tds than Sanchez. Rivers had one of his worst seasons statistically last year while Sanchez had his best, and Rivers still had more TD passes than Sanchez.

He helped them get their w/ his play in postseason.

14 more TDs mostly in garbage time, he had the top ranked D in 2010 and couldn't get to the playoffs in a weak division.

@ Cincinnati - 182 yards passing - 171 yards rushing
@ San Diego - 93 yards passing - 169 yards rushing

A fantasy guy would never be able that ^.

The 2010 Chargers used 74 players that year due to injuries. (Tied the NFL record) The ST unit was atrocious. They allowed four blocked punts (had another deflected), allowed three kickoff return touchdowns, and one punt return touchdown. They still managed to win more games that year than the Jets have legitimately won 2 out of the last 3 seasons.

That doesn't mean much to me though since I don't judge a QB solely on wins and losses like you do. Some Qbs carry their team and others are carried by their team. Rivers is a much better QB than Sanchez and even most Jets fans would tell you that.

It's nice that you post stats w/ no context, you should try watching the games sometime.

#1 D w/ weak division and couldn't lead them to the playoffs. Spare me your excuses.

Rivers is a bad postseason QB, he was probably the Jets MVP in that 2009 div rd win. he's never done anything in postseason and his only time winning a div rd game they won after he got hurt and Billy Volek led them to the GW TD. I don't care if he can light up the Chiefs, raiders and Broncos in the reg season.

That is funny since you post about a QBs winning % with no context. I saw those games, and saw a QB that was carried by the defense and running game. There is no doubt in my mind that if the Jets had Rivers instead of Sanchez, they win those same games and maybe even 1 of the AFCC games.

all that matters are wins. In '09 he was kind of along for the ride in the reg season but certainly not postseason, in '10 he was a key to winning 11 games bailing out an inconsistent D and run game numerous times.

if the jets had Rivers they don't make a title game b/c Rivers tries to do too much and turns it over killing his team. Rivers has at least 1 INT in EVERY postseason game he's played, he's had a positive TD to INT ratio only twice and the 2nd one was all garbage time against Pitt. He's had a negative TD to INT ratio 3 times, Mark has had a negative one ONE time and in that game he led a last minute GW drive to win the game.

So by your logic, I suppose Trent Dilfer is a great QB. He is certainly better than Snatchez

This sounds familiar. Where have I heard something crazy like this before? Oh yeah:

The Giants absolutely win it all w/ Sanchez and they probably have more playoff wins and playoff apps if Sanchez is their QB, we probably don't even make a title game w/ Eli the last 2 years.

:chuckle:
