FOX Sports calls the Dolphins the biggest losers of the free agency period so far.

Whoever voted for us as the losers of the free agency must be a poster on this board.

I think the 32 ranking comes from the idea that we are one of the only teams without a concrete plan at QB (Broncos being one of the others), and have sent mixed messages to our presumed starter all offseason regarding his worth.

People here can defend both sides of most any argument, but it is increasingly hard to find someone who disagrees with the notion that the team hasn't botched its treatment of Chad Henne.

OK, there is a difference between trades and FA.

In FA we improved our LB'ER position.
We added depth to our O-line
Though not significant, we improved our backup QB position.
We wanna switch toa spread fast paced offense. We don't get a WR so we go get the best RB option for that. At any time Bush can line up as WR and probably be our 3rd best WR on the team.

I haven't been paying attention to the Pats or Jets. But the JETS to my knowldge are just resigning their own players. The Pats traded for players. That is not FA on either part. So how have the Phins who improved with FA done worse?

Not only that, but unlike many other teams, we won't have cap problems for years to come.

I don't understand why it's so hard to comprehend. It seems FA is being solely linked to our QB situation. Which, once again, would have been a trade not FA. Unless we signed Vince Young.

Yes I am being technical, but Miami doesn't and didn;t have the luxury to be trading picks away. Like NE will probably get OSI for 1 of their 2 2nd's. We may like the moves today, but if we made the trade for Orton and Osi, yes we would be ecstatic, but how would we feel next offseason with no 2nd, 3rd and 4th?

For years Miami fans have been complaining about overspending on FA'S and wasting draft picks. Now our GM is showing he won't overspend and won't waste draft picks and we still have people upset.

Miami has been one of the successful teams in FA IMO

John Beck as the Redskins QB isn't worse?

I can understand that perspective. But FA isn't solely on our QB situation.

Even myself who was a big supporter to get Orton would agree he probably wasn't our long term solution. So there was no real option out there to fix our QB solution for more then a couple years. So if Orton wasn't a longterm fix it would have been a HORRIBLE move by our GM to give up a 2nd or a 3rd plus 9 million a year. That's what I think personally. Obviously some disagree.

FH is way too sensitive when it comes to these kinds of things - wins and losses is all that matters -

That is because they rate flash not improvement. While the FO has not solved the big problem, every move made by the FO has improved the 53 man roster. There are definitely teams that have not improved. A rating of 32 is ridiculous. A statement like the biggest loser of free agency can only be interpreted as a ranking of 32. All it tells me is not to listen to any opinion form Fox Sports.

I dont feel we have done the worst job in the FA period. That being said I dont feel we have done a good job either. I dont like what we have done with our RB position based on the fact we didnt resign RB. He signed for 1 year if we are counting on often injured Reggie Bush and a Rookie with Lex Hilliard and Patrick Cobbs then to me that is suicide. We should have brought RB back to be the 3rd string back its not like he is starting in philly. And further more our Oline is still a big question mark. Pouncy is a rookie and the success of Carey and whoever starts at guard remains to be seen. Without a good line dont expect Thomas to do well or whoever is our QB.

So lets get this straight. We upgraded our defense, upgraded our o-line, upgraded our Dynamic players on offense, but just because we didn't sign a QB we are the biggest losers?

Whatd bout Seattle replacing Hasselback with Tarvarias Jackson? Redskins starting QB is Jon Beck! Come on now..

People have tended to set Ireland apart from the rest of this farce. Can we all admit now that Ireland is just as big a part of the problem as everyone else?

Oakland had the worst off season by far. They lost their star guard and TE to the seahawks. That being said, our off season was not good. We had opportunities to improve at multiple positions of need and we flat out did not.

What bout raiders they loss two key playrrs. What bout jets who really has not added anyone and lost players. All in all we upgraded
