Free Agency Breaking News- NFL - Breaking News Thread 2025 Offseason

I am very happy with this signing.

Agreed. I heard about the deal yesterday but am only now seeing the total of the contract. That's absurd. Even if a large portion is phony with little guaranteed money, its hard to comprehend them investing in him at this point. I really thought he'd be looking at a 1 year deal for like $6M or so.

With the amount of guaranteed money, it probably is only a 1 year deal.

In order contract news:

The Cleveland Browns signed offensive guard Teven Jenkins a week ago in NFL free agency, and we now know what the details of his contract entail.

The deal is a one-year deal for the former second-round pick for just over $3 million. The Browns are guaranteeing Jenkins, a player with a laundry list of injuries, the majority of that deal. Jenkins gets about $2.7 million in guaranteed money in this deal.

Looks like for now, that he's a backup. Thought it might be relevant.

So about $800K more than Eichenberg?

Give or take, no exact number on Jenkins other than slightly over 3M. So you’d assume 800-900k difference, at the most. It was worth noting as he’s viewed as a backup, as is Eichenberg (obviously).

Why sign for that cheap to be a back up? We have to have an offer out to the other 2 available guards

Wow wtf Grier this is bad. Would of been a steal.

That's hard to comprehend coming off the ACL and his decline already being evident.

Good for him. Dude has a $137M in career earnings already, which is a lot for a guy drafted in the 5th round.
He was already in decline before he tore his ACL last year and is another year older.

If he is their big FA WR signing then I am happy about that.
