I don't see how it is even close. Gus has looked awful. The guy can't hit a man in stride for the life of him. His lone TD came on a pass that was intended for another man and slipped out of his hand. Feeley hasn't blown anyone away, but at least he is completing passes. Also the whole, "He likes to dump the ball off" theory was proven wrong tonight as he hit Farmer long and just barely led Mann out of bounds on another long pass. He may not have thrown many deep passes in the pre-season, but he has shown he has the ability to, compared to Gus who can't connect on a deep pass to save his life. Feeley has to be the starter at least by default right now.

I agree with everyone who is saying start AJ, its the most logical choice. There is NO and I repeat NO reason to start Gus. If AJ is the QB of the future, lets find out, not waste a season with a 34 year old QB at the helm.

U wanna know what I have been trying to get people o understand for so long now.

Feeley threw a bad pass to Mann. However, Mann still caught it and had atleast a chance to make a play.

Frerotte doesn't even give his WR'S a chance to make a play on his errant throws.
Exactly. Gus has been way off the mark missing open recievers time and time again. At least Feeley's passes are catchable.

Gus did have a few dropped balls. But he missed big time on some deep balls to D BO and company. I am really baffeled. The players are behind Gus, he does not lock on players, he knows how to run the O but he has been missing in the games. He must really look good in practice, but that will not cut it. We need a game time qb.

I would say play Gus the first 3 series, if he blows it, give it to AJ. Here is how I would like to see next week. Gus 2-3 series, AJ finish the 1st half and let Sage and Brock battle the 2nd half. We need to see if Brock can keep up the play he has been putting out there. I do not envy the coach here.

The negative on AJ that I seen was locking on to the receiver, bad judgement on simple things like not running to pick up the 1st on the 3&1 roll-out. Hw is a little skittish in the pocket. He was off a little on some throws but not as bad a Gus.

I say Gus better practice his tail off to keep the job. Why is it he or AJ do not stay after practice w/ the wrs' and work on it like Manning and co. do. I saw alot of points left off the board tonight, and that will spell disaster in the reg. season.

Ricky was stellar as usual. Ronnie was good to. I liked how he picked up the blitz and maintained a solid block until the qb got rid of the ball.

From the last few practice reports we have seen..(please ref both the Herald and PBP is you need to)...Feeley has been the more impressive during practice and now in games. In fact...it was noted that he seemed to be growing more and more comfortable with the offense.

What I like in Feeley..is that he didnt ever quit. When the reins were handed over to Gus...Feeley stated he was going to go out and compete to win the job. He has improved week to week to a point now where her seems the most comfortable running the team. Saban in affect..challenged him to step up...so he could test his heart. Feeley has been up to the challenge.

I agree completely...AJ earned a chance to start with the 1st team next week...if he proves he can run the 1st team too then he's the man...if he doesn't...

Unfortunately next week's game will be a poor barometer for anything as in the lasy preseason game it's possible Feeley only sees a starting defense for 1 series. In fact some teams don't play there starters at all.

Also I think the guys who think Rohan Davey is better than anything we have are nuts. I watched him vs the 2nd and 3rd stringers the other ight and definetly think Feeley and Frerrotte are better.

Aj needs a start against the 1st team defense of the opposing team. Let's give him a couple of series to cement his standing as the starter or pull a Gus and totally suck.

I agree next week...but unless Im crazy..dont most teams sit their 1st team the majority of the last game.

I think Saban's mind should have been decided by now IMO.

More upside----Feeley

More improvement over pre season --- Feeley

Better game in week 3..where most gameplanning took place---Feeley.

It really makes no sense to me to start Gus. Feeley has shown he can learn a new offense...and play as good..if not better than someone who has known this offense for years.

Gus would be the perfect B/U as he could really help AJ on the sideline.

Feeley must start week 1. Will he? Only Saban knows that answer.

i totally agree,i think aj should start this week with the 1st team 4 the whole 1st half of the game. lets see if he can move the ball downfield against atlanta's starters.if he can't do a good job then gus should be the QB 4 the home opener against denver. one thing i've noticed lately is that feeley throws a good ball on the money but guys seem to drop alot of them so it makes him look bad. they seem to drop more of feeley's than they do gus. am i imagining thins or what.... send feedback please???

I think you're right. Saban challenged Feeley and he stepped up his play. He has outplayed Gus the last 2 weeks and deserves a chance to start against the other team's #1 D. Last year he had no running game and a line that couldn't block. It looks like the line and the running game are coming together. It's time for us to see what AJ can do with the other pieces of the puzzle potentially in place.

Folks need to understand the dress rehearsal for starting QB is over. In the last game of preseason, no starters are in for more than a drive, if that. We've seen all the on-field competition between Gus and AJ that we'll see before Opening Day.

Saban needs to pull the trigger now, or first thing tomorrow morning.

I will support who ever Nick gives the gig to. Watching Gus today on the NFL Network was not easy. The oline is making progress, and now the quarterbacks must step it up. May the best man win!:)
