Getting on the bus with Gus

All of these Gus Frerrote reports and expectations and notions that he WILL be the starter will only make A.J. Feeley work harder and give him something to prove on the field.

I assumed he already had something to prove.

AJ threw 100 passes without an INT to conclude the season.

He was progressing...

There is no way I can root for a 34 year old QB who wasnt even part of this team last year. Gus didnt go thru the trials and tribulations we did.

AJ suffered thru the Ricky stuff, hurricanes, injuries and coaching changes.......just like we all did.

Thats why Im rooting for AJ.

Using that logic, then you would have to say you hope Travis Minor, Lamar GOrdon, or Sammy Morris wins the job over Ronnie Brown.

That would be nice. At least maybe he could think about shedding his rep as a poor practice player. Time's now or never AJ cause if we spend a day 1 pick on a Qb youre never seeing the field.

and all the notions by the Feeley huggers that AJ will be the starter will only make Gus work harder

i just want the best QB to be playing. I want to get beyond that fear I get when ever snap comes that an interception will be thrown....
Exactly! To me that was the worst thing about the last couple years was the expectation of a drive killing INT at any moment. I would be following along on NFL.com or the chat room we used to have here and then it would happen, an INT!!!!!!!!!!1

Im talking about what the experts are predicting... im not talking about what people are saying in forums, and so far alls I have heard from people on cbs, espn, fox, and all other football papers is how Gus will win, not A.J.

During his last 3 games (115 pass attempts) AJ only threw 1 INT, but he took 10 sacks. He basically turned into Rob Johnson. I wouldn't call this progressing. I would be enthused if he were reading defenses or showing some increased feel, that would be significant progress.

I did see him reading defenses and showing increased "feel". As a matter of fact not throwing the ball up for grabs or trying to force a pass is exactly what I would consider "progression". Coaches always ask that the QB take the sack or throw the ball away instead of forcing things.

By the way, Fiedler took TWO MORE SACKS in 2004 then Feeley did, even though Fiedler had almost 150 fewer attempts.

But whatever, see what you want....Im tired of talking about last year.

so I guess that you wont be rooting for Brown, Roth, Crowder, Daniels, Alabi, Carter, Holliday, Spragan, Tillman, any of our UFAs, etc all because they didnt go through the Dolphin tribulations last season

The players above are 24 year old rookies, not 54 year old "journeymen".

54 year old journey man: 1 pro bowl, 1 season where he threw more INT than TD (and that was in cincy when they stunk!).

Scrubby @ss trade acquisition from Philly: 0 pro bowl, 1 season where he threw more Int than TD

Not to mention 117 rating in linehans offense and 7/2 td/int ratio. I dont care if hes a 154, we have a qb that now knows the offense...thats more than i can say for AJ the scrub.
