Going to Detroit. What to do before the Lions game?

Like I said, just flash the signal

I spent a good amount of time in Detroit recently for training and I can also recommend Greektown casino...there is a shuttle to go to the field right there and tons of great people.

Detroit is a ****hole but there are a ton of hard working and great individuals that still believe in the city and are trying to bring it back. They are very protective of their city and I would not recommend talking **** about it to anyone there.

I've never seen a place where EVERYONE is into the sports teams...Tigers, Lions, Red Wings...they talk about it constantly...not like Florida where it's flooded with people from NJ, NY, etc...granted...it sucks up there so they latch onto the sports teams pretty hard.

I was near Detroit last April. It was a business trip to Detroit but I refused to stay in Detroit or close by. I couldn't believe the waste land and the location of Ford Field. Awful. Just awful. I am not much of a picture taker but I did take some pics on that trip. If I find them I'll post them. Beirut of the 80s was beautiful compared to Detroit.

I would suggest you go straight to the game and directly afterwards go back to safety. Straight. No stops.

Any coney joint is going to be the ****. Same with any Greek restaurant and gyros, or Middle Eastern restaurant and just about anything you care to order. Also, in Dearborn, there's the BD's Mongolian BBQ and a little sushi joint literally around the corner called O'Sushi that I'm really fond of. Too bad I moved to Texas, because we could meet up and get drinks otherwise.

Hockeytown. Great bar walking distance to stadium. Great prices good food. Get there early

Make sure you post here on Monday to let us know you didn't get dead okay?

As requested, still alive. Had a great time, Detroiters/Michiganders love their Lions and were very respectful to me. Ford Field was VERY LOUD and it affected the offensive rhythm repeatedly. FTR we went to Nemos and rode the shuttle to and from the game. It also didn't look like there was anything else going on in the city which felt like they were playing in a ghost town.

i was also at the game and agree about it feeling like a ghost town, except the area in the lions plaza. And man was it loud my ears where ringing when the crowd got going. Overall great experience both times I've been to Detroit for a fins game last was thanksgiving when Joey Harrington was our qb
