Going to Detroit. What to do before the Lions game?

Come to a Buffalo game!!

What? I heard the women of Buffalo were very friendly!

Go to the Oxford Inn for lunch. Don't go at night. The best ribs, EVER! Oh, and don't forget your Kevlar vest.

Any locals have the recommendation? I'm thinking about going to Nemos and taking the shuttle.
Get a Coney at Lafeyettes in the downtown area before the game then you have to hit Cheli's Chili (owned by Chris Chelios) after. Great food, drink and all the late games and it's right across the street from Ford Field and Comerica.

Don't read in public, unless you want them to think you are a "Show-Off"

Seriously, don't wander around looking for a place to go. Pick a spot go directly there and then directly to the game. Stay on main roads. Ford Field is right off I-75 and is easy to access.

Again, don't wonder into neighborhoods to gawk at the burned out homes and buildings. There are plenty in the Ford Field area if that's your thing.
