Good quarterbacking is innate.

"He needs another year of development" LOL.

Please. Spare me that drivel. You either have it or you don't. Great quarterbacks are BORN, they are not developed. There are natural instincts, intangibles, and leadership qualities that come with it, and you can usually tell immediately when one has it. A moxy. Andrew Luck has it. Russel Wilson does too.

Ryan Tannehill does not meet the standard, I'm sorry to say my fellow fin fans. It sucks, I know. I was hopeful, but he simply does not have the "IT" factor.
Lmao I hope you don't actually believe this. You aren't born with intagibles and certainly aren't born to play kids game that's absolutely irrelevant to most of the world and it's population.

Spot on.

Look at Bress, Manning, Rogers, and Brady. The elite four in the league. Now imagine if these dudes were robots emotionally. You think there teams would have the success they've had? Not a chance. That **** matters.

Ironic that you chose those 4 in a thread you started saying QB skills are innate rather than honed considering the only one that was clearly established as a franchise QB at 2 years in was Manning and he had a horrible first year.

There is some truth to what he is saying. There are some things you cannot coach. Again, take the top 10 qb's and tell me which ones were groomed? Now narrow that down to the qb's drafted in the past 5 years? How many now? Tannehill will never be a top 5 qb unless he is absolutely loaded with talent around him and even then it is a reach. He CAN be in the 8-12 range though as he does many things well. Had he been able to take advantage of usually rare situations that he had ample opportunities this year and make the throw 50% of the time this year, we probably win 2-3 more games and he throws nearly 30 tds. What a difference a single deficiency makes.

how many overthrown deep balls to wallace were there this year that directly impacted the game? his pathetic throw to wallace when he was WIDE open and would have given us a 14-0 lead was the difference in the game today. it was the difference in the season and we're out of the playoffs cause of it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you Miami fans don't know what it takes for a QB to develop. Spoiled by Marino it's always instant mix or nothing. You run Tannehill outta town and prepare for another decade of 16 different quarterbacks.

Almost 4,000 yards, 24 TD's, over 60% accuracy, and just as many clutch performances as clutch losses in his second NFL year with only a year and a half starting experience in college.

Not to mention 14 points away from a playoff berth despite the worst offensive line in football, team scandal, and 0 playmakers at the RB position.

The great thing is you guys have no say in this, Tannehill will get his well deserved third year, and he'll prove you doubters all foolish for doubting. Can't wait for that.

Oversimplifying? Please. If you can't see it, then there's no hope for you. The difference between a 7-9 team, and a 11+ win contending team is a very good to great quarterback. It's that simple. It's single most important position in the league. It's why it's the highest paid position by far.

Dalton is great? Could have fooled me.

the no running game was a killer. People really underestimate how important a running game is to moving the chains and inside the 10 yard line.

Yeah, the lack of a running game would make Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees look terrible. Good thing for Andrew Luck that the Colts have been running for 200 yards a game lately. Etc etc.

Why don't you mention the drop by Matthews that would have gone for 30+ yards or the throw that would have been a td if he doesn't trip over a shoelace?

Your logic is so flawed its not even funny. Big Ben, Rivers, Eli. They were 8-8, 9-7, 7-9.

Its a team sport.

Agreed if Tannehill was any good he would do what Brady and Bree's do as 10 year pros. Brilliant.

You just named 4 future hall of famers with many years of experience and Andrew Luck who was considered the most polished QB prospect in years and maybe the best prospect since Peyton. You can try to downplay the importance of a running game all you want, idc. It wouldve helped tremendously, you cant just expect a 2nd year QB to carry you week in and week out. It would be nice if it happened but you cant expect it. Andrew Lucks stats are very close to Tannehill in almost every category by the way.

Not to mention that he got sacked 58 times!!!!! Hell, I'm amazed that he displayed the poise that he did.

You put any QB behind that porous OLine and mediocre rushing attack, it'll be the same thing year in and year out.

The point isn't that Tannehill should do what they do. The point is stop making excuses for the guy. He was God-awful for the past two weeks.

In his 31st and 32nd start, 1 scoring drive in 8 quarters of play. It's over.
