Good quarterbacking is innate.

Brees had 11 TD's and 15 picks in his third year! These days he challenges Marinos records for fun.

He did play 11 games that year. His second year he had 17 TD's and 16 picks over a full year. Dude didn't even hit 4000 yards till his 6th season. Never hit 30 TD's till his eighth!

Yeah, QBing is innate. Lol!

Marino never had a running game and won 0 Super Bowls. You'd think Miami fans would appreciate the importance of having ANY sort of running game to keep a D off balance. Why did Geno play solidly today? Running game.

The lack of running game didn't change whether Marino was a great QB...so, not sure what your point is...

No, I am judging his body of work. He turned the ball over way too much this season. He had a few very good games and wins. Overall, inconsistent, and played very poorly the last two weeks when a playoff spot was on the line.

I am not arguing that we should move on from Tannehill. I am praying that he is the answer finally. But, I am done making excuses for him. Missing Wallace wide open for a TD when we should have had a 14-0 lead killed this team today.

Again it's his fault the team lost in Buffalo when the line was getting him hit every play, where the Rbs have him 10 yards rushing, Wrs dropping passes?

But it certainly didn't help him win in the playoffs. When your one dimensional, even the best ever can't get it done when it matters most. That's my point. You know Marino lost to the Jets in 91' in the final game of the season losing a playoff berth as well?

Imagine if Marino had a 150 yard rusher with him in his prime. He'd light it up throughout the postseason because defenses would be on their heels all day!

Yeah, he's the starting QB and shares as much blame as everyone else for that loss. It wasn't 100% on him, obviously, but he did nothing to lift the team. He was 10 for 27, for chrissakes.

how many overthrown deep balls to wallace were there this year that directly impacted the game? his pathetic throw to wallace when he was WIDE open and would have given us a 14-0 lead was the difference in the game today. it was the difference in the season and we're out of the playoffs cause of it.

How many throws hit Wallace on the hands and he dropped the ball? If you are trying to use Wallace as a measuring stick for how bad Tannehill is, you are fooling yourself.

"He needs another year of development" LOL.

Please. Spare me that drivel. You either have it or you don't. Great quarterbacks are BORN, they are not developed. There are natural instincts, intangibles, and leadership qualities that come with it, and you can usually tell immediately when one has it. A moxy. Andrew Luck has it. Russel Wilson does too.

Ryan Tannehill does not meet the standard, I'm sorry to say my fellow fin fans. It sucks, I know. I was hopeful, but he simply does not have the "IT" factor.

The research doesn't back up what you contend at all. You should read books like the "talent code", etc. The idea that some people "just have it" is the drivel in this case.

This is 2007 all over again when some of you same characters were deluding yourself into thinking Chad Henne could be good.

I feel sorry for some of you.

So where your threads/posts blaming the running backs? the o line? the receivers? i bet there wasnt any...

that is their only measuring stick...missed deep balls. Its all these people ever talk about in every thread.

I disagree with you. I don't see Tannehill being a robot. I seen a ton of emotion in him during the game. I honestly thought the guy was about to cry on the sideline when the camera was on him, or what about the game when he grabbed Rishard Matthews and threw him off the field when he almost got us a Personal Foul penalty. Just because the media doesn't shove a mic and camera up his butt 24/7 doesn't mean the dude is a robot like Henne. Also I see a guy that learned from quite a bit of his mistakes and hopefully will continue to grow. Great QBs may not be developed but don't come into the NFL leading their teams to playoffs that often either. Tannehill has a few things to work on this off-season mainly his timing on his deep ball. You can name Wilson/Luck but what about champions like Eli Manning and Drew Brees? They didn't come in lights out. Drew Brees was ran out of San Diego and Eli Manning was known as the inconsistent baby brother who would never be elite and was the reason the Giants couldn't get over the hump. Cam Newton in his 3rd season finally had his first playoff appearance as an NFL QB. I honestly think its bs.

Im not saying he is the next Drew Brees. Im not really even stating an opinion. Just the fact that Brees took a whole three years before he became who he is now.
Yep, and I agree with you there, doesn't mean Tannehill will be the next Brees, but I've always maintained that I'd be content giving him three full seasons before I'm ready to declare him anything other than a young QB.

What a ridiculous answer. Hartline dropped how many passes? 10 yards from the running backs and oline didn't even show up. Will them to win my ass.

I like tannehill, and im happy to give him a fair shot under a better offensive coordinator. However, i think he needs competition. I really ije .mettenberger, and if hes there in the third rd, if take him and let tanny, zach and devlin all openly compete in training camp. This wont happen with sherman and philbin and ireland. Ergo, they all must go.
