Greatest Dolphins at each position

I agree with most of your list. I think I would put K. Byars ahead of T. Paige at fullback though.

He would probably be the better rusher, but i thought that Paige just edged him as a full back--How important he was to the team--Dan was so distraught when he heard that Paige was quitting he went round to see him, to try and talk him out of it--That is the type of guy Marino is

Remember that run Byars had against the Cowboys

IMO to be considered an All-Time great for a team you have to play for that team more than 2 years. Thus Mercury is the best RB in Fins history.

yeh, Ricky did play for the dolphins for 2 years. :)
he was the best while he played

He was certainly a good RB--but IMO ricky and zonk were better--In fact the only doubt I had over Ricky was the short period of time he played for us

Thank God someone finally said Dick Anderson at Safty along with Jake Scott. That was the best duo of Safties in the nfl at the time. Not the most physical but they were all over the field and were both play makers and game changers

That's the best lineup so far. In fact, I can't really quarrel with anything. But you only have 3 LBs and 1 DT so another DT is needed, either Fernandez or Baumhower. Also that's 3 ILBs, no OLBs. You probably need a Mike Kolen, Larry Gordon or tweener A.J. Duhe. TE is a puzzle due to the type of team we're fielding. With Marino at QB I guess Jackson is the proper choice. With Griese it would probably be Marv Fleming.

I'm constantly amazed at the lack of respect Bill Stanfill gets. Putting Doug Betters above him, as many have done, is outright looney, IMO. Likewise the posters who place McDuffie or Duper above Warfield are just plain wrong. Probably the curse of youngsterism.

But I'll place myself ripe for criticism by favoring Griese over Marino. Other than pure passing ability and arm strength, Griese is superior to far superior in ball handling, cadence, play calling, field smarts, running ability and scrambling. I just think he gives a team like that a far better chance to follow the 30 rushing attempts/7 yards per pass attempt blueprint for consistent success.
