From the sun sentinel. Grier acknowledges they probably should have drafted a QB to backup Ryan - also showing class speaking of the departed....
..

“I would say it was inconsistent with moments of really, very good, top football, and then, other moments that probably the whole team struggled. But I appreciate him because I know what he went through,” Grier said describing Tannehill’s tenure with the team.

Ross said it best:

“I love Ryan Tannehill . . . It was time to move on”.

Nothing else needs to be said, and nobody needs to root against him going forward. It would of been cancerous to everything we are trying to do if he was still on this roster come training camp.

My feelings exactly. I defended him but agree it's time

Well said, dude.

That's exactly what it was and what I've always said; say what you will about Tanne, the guy showed flashes of brilliance. It was there, folks. He just could. not. take. that. next. step. It was that up and down.

Time comes for us all. We had to move on. I wish him the best.

They fell in love with fools gold over and over again.

What bothers me most of all is the insistence on never bringing anybody that could remotely challenge Tannehill. All they did was look the other way and rub tea tree oil over their chests at his 3 highlight throws a game.

They certainly fcked up not preparing for the future. That was moronic. It is what it is.

He also said “no, I don’t believe we made a mistake in drafting tannehill, and he agrees with the extension too.””

I don’t agree with our Gm on those statements..

But like a buddy of mine told me, I gotta move on.

I have to agree and disagree. You're right but what is he supposed to say? "Not very smart drafting a converted receiver but hey, he looked good sometimes."

hehe, he signed a 1 year deal with Titans. Imagine if he comes back as a backup to Miami after this year.

Instead of standing by multiple mistakes that severely affected our franchise, maybe say, Ryan is on another team now and I wish him well??

You got me there. But Im bias, I'd defend myself aswell. So I'm good with it.

My only issue is being able to be aware of the mistakes and learn from them, cause we all make them.. I don’t see that coming through in his adamant comments..

I know this is complicated and has many moving parts, but, he’s the one stating It.

More importantly, though, lets just hope it comes through in actions. Commments be damned. Know where I'm coming from?

Personally I don’t believe either one was a mistake.

The biggest mistake was the restructure in 2018. But that reeks of the doing of a desperate VP and coach looking to plug holes with mediocrity. Can’t blame Ryan for saying yes to a upfront check in a league with non guaranteed contracts.

When we signed Ryan to that extension, it was coming off a pretty darn good 2014 season and he was eligible for a deal and we actually were proactive with our franchise QB in extending him.

Just because it didn’t work out doesn’t make the approach an inaccurate one.

The injury was an unfortunate one as it came on the heels of his most consistent play at QB.

It was not all bad and I take no issues with Grier in regards to statements on Ryan. Its closure and we can move on.
