He was accused on two separate occasions by two different women.

In my opinion, both are dirtbags.....but I'm not defending Martin either.

Must be the $$$ !! Look I'm not saying nothing happened, I'm saying we're never going to know and there was clear motivation for them.

There's a chance they would have cleaned house anyway w/ the way the season was going
I think it's a tad premature to say that. After Monday night, we're going to have identical records.

Anyway, I digress...
If the end game is that the coaching staff and GM are purged when the season is over, fine. Whatever.

BUT...If the league lays down any punitive action like they did to the Saints, I am completely done with pro football. This is the biggest hack job I've ever witnessed, and I can't believe it's happening to my favorite team.

Even though I think Martin is the problem here and making this a much bigger deal then it ever had to be, I agree that something is going to happen to the team. Whether that is people losing their jobs, other players suspended or a team fine/loss of draft picks remains to be seen.

But that fact is that this has become a national story and once it became that the NFL and the Dolphins will be pressured to do something. Incognito and the Dolphins were painted as the villians from day one and even if the facts prove that Martin was the problem it won't be what the people want. I wouldn't be surprised if Ted Wells was told to make sure his report makes Martin undoubtedly the victim and prove something went wrong so they can justify punishment.

I was watching the begining of the Today Show on NBC this morning and this was one of their top stories. The "update" today was the statement by Martin's lawyer, the Incognito golf allegation and a clip of Mike Florio saying Ireland told Martin to fight Incognito. That was it. The national media and people around the country have already made up their mind.

Duke Lacrosse was destroyed by national opinion and they ended up being wrong in the end. But in the wake, the coach was fired, players arrested, season cancelled among other things. Penn State had a former coach commit a crime and the current team with no connection to the incident is paying the price. Texas Tech was publicly forced to fire Mike Leach after a player accused him of locking him in a room. The fact is, once the villian is decided, nobody will stop until they see those individuals punished, even if the story isn't quite true.

Great points! It is very frustratingly to see outsiders make claims about the dolphins locker room right now when they don't understand the full situation. If you are close to the situation, it is obvious Martin quit due to pressure/stress and performance issues, not bullying. But no one wants to hear that... Martin's team set the narrative, and it will be impossible to change that narrative.

In the sports world I have been through a national situation like this before. In the end the punishment never fits the crime. The punhisment is usually much worse than deserved.

The organization covered up and paid off a sexual assault victim and continued employing the idiot that did it. Ross needs to clean it thoroughly and build it as if it is an expansion franchise.
So you are saying its "Back to business as usual in S Fla"
Perpetual rebuilding mode IS what the Miami Dolphins are all about ...

Wait for the NFL Investigation. Ted Wells is a very well respected guy. People were lining up to complain that he went to Harvard and saying there could be a conflict of interest there, but Wells is very, very well respected as a very fair person. If this situation truly is what we think it is, it will come out. And if it's what Martin camp's claim it is? Well, then we deserve to be gutted in shame.

But I'm very confident that Wells will provide a path to salvage this franchise if there is something worth salvaging. Be patient.

Also, will you Penn State fans stop comparing this to Penn State? Seriously. Seriously. RAPING CHILDREN AND THEN COVERING IT UP FOR YEARS IS NOT THE SAME AS LEAVING DIRTY VOICEMAIL MESSAGES ON A GUY'S PHONE.

Nat Moore I believe? corroborated the womens story according to the police. Instead of going to trial she took the money and stayed out of the spotlight. Regardless of the specifics, we need a FO and coaching staff that will make Dolphins Headquarters a place of business, the business of winning titles, and end the fratboy clubhouse, "U" on steroids type of mentality going on here. And I don't think Philbins a bad guy, but I think there is too much water under the bridge for him to be the one to do it.

Jesus guys come on, here we are in week 9 talking about everything except a playoff run and fighting over whose less of a douche, Martin or Incognito. How did we get here? No more excuses for this team. I'll always root for them, but we are never going to have a successful team until we have people who will run it with the sole goal being the Lombardi.

I can tell you what the findings and results of the report will be in Golden Book fashion:

* The Fins locker room was out of control, out of line and not what a "workplace should be".
* Jonathan Martin was bullied and harassed, but never properly alerted anyone until AFTER leaving the team (this protects the NFL and the franchise from major financial loss)

The results:
* Dolphins pay Martin X amount of dollars he was owed and is released to find a new team
* Incognito is a FA and not re-signed.
* Jeff Ireland, Joe Philbin and the staff is fired
* Players are warned, but not fined or suspended and told not to be a part of hazing again.
* The NFL makes rigid rules for how locker rooms are to behave going fwd.

There will be guidelines issued about workplace hazing and bullying and stuff, but if you think this is all going to come down in a ****storm on the Dolphins, I'm not sure. I actually think the statement Cornwell released last night was kind of a desperation move. And I heard something interesting this morning from that I can't repeat yet that was very interesting to me.

Sounds about right...

I would be fine with all that, especially getting rid of Ireland and bring more professionalism to NFL lockerrooms. What decent person wants to work with people like Incog?

The lawyer will write something to protect the institution that is the NFL, but will find a way not to abandon Martin so the Anderson Coopers are not screaming from the roof tops. It is so obvious.

I do feel this investigation will be fair and I'm looking forward to the truth coming out, whichever way it may lead.
Whoever is in the wrong should be punished, I'm not pulling for anyone. Guilty is guilty. Innocent is innocent.
The one thing I am pulling for is that this investigation is completed sooner rather then later.
I'd like the guilty to be dealt with and the rest of the team/coaches left to focus on football games.
I'm sure Goddell & Ross want this done asap, as well.
