Hayden Fox's Assessment Week 2 One Assessment

Mike McCoy with a huge win today lead by franchise QB Phillip Rivers.

Rivers went right at Richard Sherman and played him like he was Sean Smith.

Rivers has made a remarkable turnaround under McCoy. Just 2 years ago I thought he was shot after he had a couple of really bad seasons.

Bad coaching almost killed that guy's career.

Great summary of a tough day. Losing Moreno hurts and we will need to run the ball to keep some pressure off of RT.

The Ralph always haunts us. But you are correct in saying that 17 has been a disappointment two weeks in. I'm a big fan of 17, have two tannekill jerseys, but I don't see the football accuracy nor the pocket presence, he just can't fling it as Marino would say. By football accuracy I mean placing the ball where the receiver can best maximize YAC. Hartline was atrocious today, especially on the missed block on fourth down. Don't think Miller is a genuine starting tailback in this league, need to give Williams or Darkwa a shot.

How come no one has mentioned how ridiculous it was to sit on the ball before the end of the half losing 9-0 with 2:20 left and all of their timeouts? To make matters worse, the Dolphins managed to get one first down and were at about their own 30 yard line and still had all of their timeouts and still decided to sit on the ball. WTF? If you are going to play that scared, you might as well get on the plane and go home. Why even bother taking the risk of getting anyone else hurt if you are going to be that conservative? Or why didn't they just take a knee after they got the first down? Why risk fumbling the ball if you are going to play that scared? It is inexcusable to play like that and Philbin's job should be on the line because of it.

I did.

Well I am glad that Sherman is gone so we really evaluate Ryann T. on his own merits. That being said this is the first new system that Ryan T. has had to learn now that Sherman has left how much could that have to do with Ryan T. struggling. Thanks for the write up also. Hoops is going to be interesting to hear from on this game,

Cameron Wake did not have a bad day. He beat Henderson multiple times, but EJ got rid of the ball quickly and receivers were wide open. The Bills were effectively able to mix run and pass and that neutralized the pass rush.

Anyone else notice Satele not snapping the ball on time? He also didnt offer much help to the guards when nobody lined up over him.

Lamar Miller has to go. He is good for a few carries, but thats it. Damien William sand Orleans Darkwa should be 1a and 1b backs.

Brian Hartline also needs to take a seat on the bench. If he can even catch a pass, he's just going to fall down after taking 2 steps.

Terrible game by Tannehill. He did just about everything wrong in this game. Bad accuracy, not leading receivers, not seeing the open receivers, holding the ball too long, not changing out of plays, bad decision on that last interception. I am concerned about our QB.

I think the worst play of the game was when tannehill missed a wide open miller on 3rd down. We got the first in the fourth down play but that miss just can't happen. Also I think the defense played pretty lackluster today. Not one unit did their job with any enthusiasm. Hurry back Jones. We need a playmaker out there. Also, wtf happened wake? Just when we all start talking about how he may be one of the great fins, he gets **** on by a rook. Where was OV today? Did he even play? No pressure on the QB and when someone did get a shot at Manuel, it didn't matter because there was wide open receivers all day long.

I don't really have any positives to give out today. Maybe I could say Landry played well but he fumbled so maybe not. Clays drop was terrible, hartlines was worse, and miller topped them all. Its funny, because coming into the season I was thinking that Wallace was the weak link on offense, but so far Wallace is the only one making plays. Absolutely amazing catch today. Should be up for catch of the year. Wallace is doing his job, too bad tannehill can't get him the ball when he gets open, which is very often.
