Hayden Fox's Preseason Week Two Assessment

Tannehill's throw was flawless, right on target.

WOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!

i havnt seen the game yet. looking at the above video clip, i can not believe the heat and anger mike wallace is taking for that.

YES!! GREAT, GREAT THROW by tanny!! hopefully he took the coaches admonishment and worked on his deep ball and we are seeing the results.

MIKE WALLACE was DEAD ON THE MONEY and should have been a big td. so, what happened?

its so OBVIOUS ITS SILLY!!! i have never seen a case of pass interfearance from a db so blatant. why the ref didnt call that was absurd. that guy had his arm around wallaces waist for a LONG TIME and it slowed him down just enough to not let wallace get under that tanny pass.

after hearing all the "wallace sucks, he's gotta go, i like the offense better without wallace stuff today, i thought i was going to see this awful, stopped his route 15 yds short and ate his nacho's while tanny was throwing some beautiful pass clip.

the ref should have called that. and its the ONLY reason that play didnt work. it had NOTHING to do with wallace other than he had a defender drapped and holding on to him for 15 yds. and once he got the guy off of him, he was reaching hard for that ball. everyone is acting like mike put the breaks on and just stood around while mike watched tanny's pass fly over his head, where he should have caught it but ignored it and wimped out.

un believable!! after seeing this clip, i actually have not only some confidence in tannys long ball improvement but also how effective mike wallace is and will be in the lazor system.

i tell ya, some of you guys are just plain GOOFY!! your so full of hate for mike wallace, you couldnt even see a FLAGRANT pass interference and hold on him!!. if this would have been a fan fav, like gibson or mathews, all i would be reading about today is how BADLY they were held on that play. but, because it was the hated mike wallace, it wasnt even a notice and if it was, they probably thought he should have done more, run faster so the defender couldnt have held him!!

thanx for that clip. bad fans, not a bad wr.

I still think Mike Wallace can justify his contract, it's just that he had these same issues in Pittsburgh in 2012 and I honestly wonder if the guy is just on cruise control now. It's really disappointing.

Wasn't that the year e had Big Ben, Leftwich and Batch as QBs?

It's not your money and we aren't in cap hell! We have a lot more waste like Wheeler and Elderbe to worry about that will cost this team more then just money as the season goes on!
Great response about not my money. Bottom line is he is the highest paid WR in the game and is far from worthy of that contract. Kind of like Flacco and Dalton. Pretty certain you've let your feelings know about those contracts.

I believe Ben was hurt part of the year, but his issues went well beyond that. Ask a Steelers fan or see the article that was posted here in the other Wallace thread yesterday.

I think a big part of it is that he just doesn't have his head in the game (i.e. the dropped screen pass). I'm hoping he picks it up when the games really count but I'm definitely concerned that he just came here for a two year vacation and payday.

Way to jump to conclusions...quote me on all that "pitch fork" type bull****. Hardon for Wallace...? :bobdole: I simply said the ball was thrown well, and without contact he should've/would've came down with the ball. Talk about misinterpretation on your part.

No I believe you said "the throw was flawless" and now you are back pedaling! Maybe you should run for president!

Now we like the bleacherreport? I have a ton of friends and family that are Steelers fans not the ignorant mouth breathers that populate the Allegheny Valley either. They all said Wallace was a good signing and wanted to keep him.

The deep ball talk is way out of control. Those protecting Wallace continue to talk up the PI which is a legitimate complaint. What they won't do is address the screen pass because there's only one answer. He's not focused and it's a problem.

Are you and NRA the same poster? I swear you two share the same estrogen-fueled traits that stand out in every one of your posts.

Ummmmm I bet you can't find me smashing those contracts. Other then pointing out Dalton's contract is really only a 2 year deal. As far as Flacco no I don't think I smashed his either. Might have pointed out he is a Superbowl Champ though. Wallace strength are low percentage routes.

Scott Kacsmar is a funny guy. I used to post on another message board with him, where he was sort of like that board's version of shouright, except unlike shouright he actually understands statistical analysis. I believe he writes for Football Outsiders or ESPN now, can't remember which.

Anyway, I think there's legitimate cause for concern if you see him:

1. Have difficulty picking up the offensive concepts.
2. Dropping footballs.

Make no mistake about it, #1 was a big part of his poor productivity last season. If you go back to that first Patriots game for instance, at the start of the second half, Ryan Tannehill throws a beautiful strike to the front corner of the end zone -- away from the safety -- and it should be an easy six points... except Mike Wallace turns into the safety. If the QB had thrown the ball there, it would have been broken up and Wallace would have come out on a stretcher.

He's bad at reading coverages.

Oh good here come the insults! That is about what I would expect from ignorance.

I remember that play. Quick question how do you know Tannehill didn't read it wrong? Has coach addressed it public ally or are you speculating?

Well, despite the amount of contempt I have for Mike Sherman's offensive design, I find it really hard to believe that the receiver was supposed to take his route directly into the face of a free safety instead of into a completely open corner of the end zone.

Look, don't get me wrong, I am rooting for Mike Wallace, but when everyone notices that your QB and #1 WR just somehow can't get on the same page, taht's a problem. And that's a very peculiar problem when the team is able to bring in no-name guys like Rishard Matthews, Brandon Gibson, and Damian Williams... and they can all get on the same page with the QB.
