heath evans take on feeley/frerotte

Consider the value of that 2nd and then tell me if you really think Feeley was worth it. Face it, we gave up too much, there's not way too deny that. In a season where a man like T.O. was moved for a 2nd, getting AJ for the equivalent is just ludicrous. Looking back on Speilman/Wanny moves should attest to how bad the trade was.

No doubt that it was a steep price. If he turns out to be a player and the QB of a Dolphins team that's a contender, than theres the payoff. SO far there has been none. We already paid the price, might as well see if we can reap something. I was livid when the trade was made. I hate, despise, abhor, detest, and loathe trading draft picks.

So, in other words, AJ got screwed. Like Griese got screwed over Fiedler?

Look, AJ knew the deal.. He should've stepped up his game but he didn't and he's paying for it. Maybe next hear he'll get his shot. After he fully understands the Linehan scheme of things.

Ok, if you just had to instantly "step up your game" I could be a QB in the NFL. That's silly. The first post said why he did not step up his game. He is unfamiliar with the offense. I think you are hitting the nail on the head saying he got screwed by the circumstances and it's so true that Griese did. We should still have him but that's another story.

I think I'll go step up my game and earn a million bucks tomorrow at work. Oh wait, it's going to be a nice day, so I'll just really step up my game so I can earn a million by noon and go to the beach after that.

I totally understand your perspective...........Personally for me, at this juncture, I consider that 2nd round pick a sunk cost, gone forever, and we just have to forget about it and move on.

Well put. We have heard that before. Good answer. Instead of wallaowing the team looks at what they can best do now given the situation.

I got to meet Heath Evans last night and talk to him. He's a very educated guy, speaks very well. I was a little shaky at first watching him, but he has grown on me. To me he's like Rob Konrad without a lisp, maybe a little smaller. He's white, got blonde hair, wear 44, same style of player. Anyway, this is a classy educated man we are talking about, he's not going to say AJ sucks, or he isn't going to be a good QB. What happens if Gus get's hurt, and you have the players already saying AJ is no good, maybe TO would speak the truth on Feeley, but it's like sticking up for your brother when your brother is wrong. I think we know how the players are feeling on the QB situation. Before the Super Bowl, with rumors on Gus coming in, Randy Mac didn't even know his name, now when I talked to him, he said this is going to be the guy. Oh, and they say that Gus has shown them nothing to believe he can't take them to the Super Bowl, yes, that is high praise. The offense has so much more confidence, it's just awesome to see. One last thing, AJ has a 3 million dollar roster bonus due after this year, and you got Ronnie with his 12 million roster bonus, you have Randy, Lance, Boston, Jones, Mcdougle all UFA (Jones has a contract that will be re-worked or released).

It's one thing to not know the playbook ..........it's another to not take offseason training seriously........another thing to still at the age of 28, constantly lock onto recievers not making more than 1 or 2 reads.......it's also another thing to have happy feet in the pocket and not step up into your throws. These are things AJ should be adept at now, at least performing consistently at. Yet he doesn't.

How much time do you spend doing that with a 28 year old, non experienced QB with alot of flaws in his game?

Sunk cost.. ..I feel like I'm in Business School again..

I can see why you would feel that way..I'm still holding on to a glimmer of hope that he can be something..I'll consider it a sunk cost when he gets cut or released..for now it's unnecessary overhead..

At least a year. Definitely more than teh handful of games we have invested in our 2nd round trade. The point is, he won't get any better by watching. Who knows? Maybe the coaches know more than we know and can tell that he probably won't get better. I stand behind them because they know more about football, and the guys on the team than we do. I'm just tired of the same whining about him. Jeese, maybe he can help win a couple of games in relief of Gus this year. No that's not second round talent, but it's better than just whining about that pick.

At least a year. More than I'd invest in a 32 year old journeyman who has little more than confidence as his main attribute.
