Hickey started good but is finishing weak.

One thing to keep in mind about our cap. The fact that we will need some our cap to extend Odrick, Pouncey, and hopefully most importantly RT. If we use all our cap money it will be impossible to extend those players. Those players may get extended this year or at the latest next year. So IMO Hickey is considering those extensions in how he spends now. I don't think we are done in FA but I do think those current players' futures are being considered in our spending moves.

I am not disappointed but I am surprised, I thought they would be more aggressive with OL and CB than they are, I see a team like Tampa revamp a average OL with good signing with starters and backups along with being aggressive on Defense....lets wait until teams draft and cut good veterans and see what he does.....I say lets give him time to execute his plan.....

Disagree. Pouncey has an option which we are picking up, and does not be a FA until 2016 Odrick and Clay are the only two to worry about for next year but, could be done this year. Whenever this happens the deal will include a pro-rated signing bonus, as well as a first year discounted rate. I do not see where it has any bearing on this year's spending.

I believe everyone here, including myself, would have been very happy with one more legit starter on the OL, like an Asamoah. Not doing that is disappointing, even though it is only one player. Like the draft, there was a position run on the OL, and IMO we came up short. JMO

We may still sign a legit starter.

It's free agency guys... Not the draft. We won't fix everything, that's really unrealistic thinking that way with 1 draft and offseason. We still need linebackers, running backs, and blocking tight end along with a big bodied red zone threat. It's going to be a long time till we did everything.

Finishing? its over a month still before the draft not to mention you can sign guy all offseason.

Been a defender of the Dolphins Management and Coaching but...

I really expected them to be aggressive filling glaring holes but it looks like (to me) they have done just enough to meet a minimum grade. I do like the picks (I although there were smarter CB options than Finnagen)

I don't want them to waste money BUT I would rather them use the remaining money to sign a 4 Mil lineman for 5 mil than have them sign a 3 mil guy for 2.5 mil. Maybe someone should send them a message letting them know what you have under the cap doesn't count towards your final standing or playoff eligibility.

If Tannehill takes 40+ sacks again this year it's firmly on Hickey and Philbin. If we lose a couple games because Sturgis shanks a couple chip shots its on Hickey and Philbin.

And before anyone brings up build through the draft they might realize that this is 2014 and not 1995, rookie salaries are set and what rookies we sign has zero, zilch...notta bit of relationship on who we sign in free agency as long as we have 6 mil or so which we easily have (about 24 mil at this point I believe)

I'm sure things can change but I'm feeling time is ticking down on those few starter grade players we can pick up.

why start bitching after not even one week of FA ???

Delmas and Finnegan are those fire starters ....those RA RA guys that we needed against the JETS....

Impatience dooms franchises they lack proper perspective and go for the quick fix, but that quick fix turns into a hole you cannot get out of eventually.
