Hickey started good but is finishing weak.

18 mil in use it or lose it rollover for 2014. would like to see as many 1 year prove it deals as possible. this roster needs serious turnover.

Talk about hyperbole. If RT develops into a franchise QB this team wouldn't be so average.

if we make it to the playoffs this year we are looking at maybe 14 or 15 M a year when we extend him

now, i believe ONE more FA OL should suffice, we can go OL all draft for all I care...however that should leave about 15 M to roll over to next year, with the new TV contracts we should have about 30-35 to start negotiating with Ryan

3 things: Free Agency hasn't ended... Draft hasn't started... Money not spent this season gets banked for next season.

I don't see anyone out there that I think the Dolphins should break the piggy bank for. It's bargain shopping time now. Be patient.

Another top tier OL would have been nice.

But how many more options were there really? We got the LT, we got an OG that many Rams fans were worried they would lose, and we already have a Center. That leaves one more OG and RT. The RT market wasnt that impressive and we could possibly have the other OG on the roster with Dallas Thomas.

So here we sit with possibilities still looming for good vets to play swing line positions on the market and a draft. This sounds VASTLY better than last year.

Plus it's smart not to spend up all your money in case someone gets hurt and you need to spend for a replacement.

Fair enough. But common sense says the majority if not all starter grade players are signed. Miami has no need for backup grade offensive lineman at this point so time isn't on our side. There are times you approach things with a scalpel and times you approach things with a sledge hammer. This is one of those time IMO they should have taken a sledge hammer approach because the deficiencies were so glaring and obvious it would be impossible to get it wrong.

Polian made mention that nearly 70% of FAs do not make it to year 3 of their deals. Hr also mentioned the best values in FA are a month or two in. Washington made it a art form of signing starter grade FAs, and finishing below expectations. What you want and how its accomplished are two different things. You want to spend top dollar today so you feel better. Well please give me a list of players today, worth the money

how can anyone say Hickey is finishing weak? we haven't even been in FA for a week. lmao

edit: also, don't be surprised if there is another trade, either before or after the draft.

Play makers can not make plays without a decent/good offensive line. The Phinz must fix the OL period....we need a good right tackle ASAP.

I actually appreciate hickey not getting guys for the sake of getting guys. it shows they are thinking long term. a lot of good teams are spending big dough. the tides will turn.

we are drafting OL bigtime imo cus he said so regardless of free agency.

I would rather have Mike Collins then Finnegan. And J. Gilbert or Varett or Fuller CBs first round then Lewan OT or any other OL in first round. Thats why this Finnegan move is creating risk for two positions.

Personally I dont mind the Finnegan signing. The guy is a hard hitting player that can frustrate opposing wideouts. If he can regain his form this would be an excellen signing! And there is still lots of players to be had yet still early in free agency!

Realty is this team has too many holes to fill in just this free agent period. I dont want to throw money away just to sign bodies. Give him a chance to build the roster correctly. Just dont sign a guy for the sake of signing a guy. The draft is quickly approaching and that is where he needs to fill our remaining holes.
