Hickey was instrumental in bringing Revis to Tampa

Cmon Revis.

Madden 15 would be beyond ridiculous.

Jeff Darlington just said on NFL network that Dennis Hickey was instrumental in bringing Revis to Tampa...maybe try to bring him to Miami. We have the cap space to do it.

I hope he had nothing to do with that trade....that one ranks slightly below the Hershel Walker trade....giving a guy coming off ACL surgery 16 million plus the 13th player in the 2013 draft and a fourth rounder this yr and he plays all of 16 games smh

I don't see us giving him more money than Grimes. Wouldn't want to upset the apple cart.

Yeah but none of the money was guaranteed if cut.

Not that bad IMO.

Yes the $16 is crazy, but they had the eject button planned.

Any team that is willing to make Darrelle Revis the highest paid CB in the NFL will be on his radar. I promise you that.

Revis would go play for the Arena League if they paid him more than a NFL team.

The guy cares zero about winning and just getting paid.

Yes, NFL is a business but one would think he would be after a feeling of accomplishment after making enough money to last him 20 life times.

He can be instrumental in keeping him off the Dolphins too.

x 100 unless Revis would like to play for $6-7 million per. And we all know he won't. There' a huge opportunity cost to signing Revis, and it's unwise for the Fins to pay it.

Omar's take on Revis

Talented players like Revis rarely hit the open market, and when they do every team should get in line to make their pitch. The Miami Dolphins need to be at the front of that line for Revis, a five-time Pro Bowler who rebounded from a season-ending knee injury last season, returning to his perch as one of the game’s elite defenders.

Even though Revis already has an offseason home in South Florida, the odds of him picking the Dolphins over a contender are slim. But Revis' track record proves he likes money, and needs to set the salary bar at his position. Steve Ross’ history has proven the Dolphins owner is willing to spend money.

That’s why the Dolphins need to be involved in the Revis sweepstakes, relocating Revis Island to Miami Gardens.

Revis, who contributed 50 tackles, two interceptions, one sack and forced two fumbles last season, will aim to shatter the six-year, $57 million contract the Broncos just gave Aqib Talib, which featured $26 million in guaranteed money.

He’ll likely get it, and the Dolphins can afford that type of deal considering the franchise still has roughly $28 million in cap space after finalizing a two-year, $12 million deal with defensive tackle Randy Starks, a two time Pro Bowler.

Just imagine a secondary that pairs Revis with Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes, and features Starks, Cameron Wake, Olivier Vernon and Dion Jordan hunting opposing quarterbacks.
Even if the Dolphins can’t land Revis it would be a wise approach to raise the price on its division rivals, possibly forcing both franchises to exit the bidding process, or stress their budget if they do land him.

New Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey needs to put a six-year, $68 million offer on the table that guarantees Revis $33 million, and cross his fingers that if Revis does pick an AFC East team it will be the one in South Florida.

****...if Omar says something the opposite has to happen.

Being realistic, the Buc's let him go because Lovie Smith is coming in with his Tampa 2 defense which is a very zone coverage heavy, where Revis is a on the line bump and run man coverage guy. Doesn't Croyle run more of a zone scheme? Would this be trying to fit a high priced square peg into a round hole?

Money and vet's going to contenders never mix.

Vets that go to contenders to chase the ring will take sub-par contracts.

20th time I've said this today, Revis wants $$$$. Unless he has a change of heart and actually cares about winning he will go to the highest bidder.

Do we have the cap space to go after him? Yes

Should we? Yes

Whats the cut off dollar amount? $12?

Yall do realize Revis is gonna want what Talib got, right? #Minimum

Talib : 6 Year / $57 / $26 Guaranteed..... Basically $9.5/Year with 45% Guaranteed.

I'm assuming

Revis : 6 Years / $72 / $32.5 Guaranteed.... $12/Year with 45% Guaranteed.

Any takers?
