Hitting rock bottom may be just what this franchise needs...

Oh yeah... I'm sure that Martin grew up as a little rich kid insulated from the "real" world. The NFL is probably his first taste of life in the "hood" or the Blue Collar world, and it's just not his cup of tea.

yep...his parents are lawyers he's been raised with a stick in his rear he's been told he's nothing but awesome with awesome sauce his whole life and thru college even he gets to the nfl and figures out that's no longer the case and goes off the deep end over it

Thank you! When I heard the accusations of Incognito threatening Martin and using racist language, I was hoping to see the messages. Once I saw them, my first thought was "Who in their right mind would actually take this stuff seriously?" I saw nothing threatening nor racist whatsoever. I'd be willing to bet that the "N" word is spoken thousands of times in NFL locker rooms. I'd even be willing to bet that a lot of "white boys" pretending to be from the "hood" also use it, as evidenced by the video of Incognito at some club WITH black team mates! What about the music played at practices? I'm sure that there is a lot of rap and hip-hop played... and I'd bet that the "N" word is in some of those songs.

My opinion on the voice mails? Incognito is an idiot. He was told to get on Martin's butt and have him come to OTAs and work harder, and those are the messages he leaves? They're not threatening, they're not racist, they're just stupid. A little kid could come up with something better than that to urge Martin to show up for practice.

Well said.

this whole thing is so stupid....jon martin is the definition of wuss...it's hard to fathom this guy could ever play football...

unreal really...that mnf pregame is not going on my dvr i know that much...talk about nauseating speculation and overkill...i literally loathe jon martin right now...what a fem

Im with you bro. I cant stand Jon Martin.

If the guy needed help, he didnt have to do this.

Granted Incognito is a scumbag and he definitely went too far with his choice of words, but give me a break. There was simply no need for Martin to go this route. He is causing all of this fuss for no reason. Now the "culture" in the NFL is going to be forced to change and the phins will be the example. Just a disgrace. Unreal.

Roger Goodell and the PC crew is ruining the NFL. Jon Martin will go down in history as a huge blow to the league and the turning point in the popularity of the NFL going downhill. The sport is doomed.

But the question is, "How many times does a franchise hit rock bottom before it turns around?"

The Dolphins have been marred in mediocrity for so long that it almost seems impossible they will ever escape the cycle of average football. It is my belief that in order to truly move forward and rebuild a once great franchise a team needs to hit rock bottom. I though they did that several years ago when they went 1-15, but apparently that was not the case. Whatever side you are on in this latest “issue” it could be what is needed to finally move this franchise forward. Hitting rock bottom truly allows for the opportunity to begin anew.

Like most I am not happy about the situation as it takes away from the product on the field and there was something to be excited about. A young, talented QB developing, excellent defensive line play, and playmakers on defense, but this topic will consume us for the foreseeable future. My hope is that Ross recognizes this and seizes the opportunity to completely rid this team of personnel that is left over from the Parcells era and remake the franchise. Unfortunately people like Philbin may be a may be a casualty in this, but it may be the only way to restore our beloved Dolphins to prominence

I thought we already hit rock bottom when we were 1-15?
