hoops scoops...fins bills

Hoops after reading your new posts I was just about to say that between (a) the receivers not running precise routes (your depth point) and (b) Tannehill still needing work on "influencing" (great way to put it) that...to me those are clues as to why Lazor doesn't trust them with tempo.

Then I saw your next post about tempo. It was uncanny that we both followed your two posts into the tempo issue. It sounds like you are ready for tempo regardless. I could see that. Maybe we would at least just rip it more. I'd at least try it in doses. Maybe come out at the start of the 3rd quarter with it if circumstance allows it.

We've had about as good of a week as possible from our good posters with their analysis.

i think if you pick up tempo you can get away with more depth issues etc and have more margin for error cause you have the defense always on their heels...you are dictating to the opposition...but you MUST trust the qb otherwise it all goes belly up...i see no reason not to trust this kid

look at philly...do you think they trust that qb to the highest degree??? nah...they just figure that if he makes a few mistakes that the sheer play volume they get on offense because of that tempo will offset it...and it does

3 turnovers from the qb in the first half last week a boatload of points in the second half alone...

miami may be a year away from full no huddle every play like philly this year but they should be mirroring what philly did last year and at least playing with high tempo

I totally agree about the tempo. The few times we've gone up-tempo, we've had the defense on their heels. Tannehill has shown he's good in the 2 minute drill.

So why are we taking forever to get plays in and sapping the ball with :02 left on the playclock?

the other thing i can say after taking so many looks is the offensive scheme is outstanding...it just needs tempo...which i think they are building towards

it's not quite as intuitive as phillys but miami has some personnel limitations that philly doesnt have...it's damn good though and if we dont score points when the tempo picks up it is absolutely on the players...if we dont score points period it's on the players...but tempo is the only missing piece scheme wise

I think some of that falls on Samson Satele...I know in the Buffalo game Tannehill was stomping his foot and clapping to get Satele to snap the ball and he was still waiting to snap it for some reason.

looked like he was still communicating protections stuff...needs to get them done quicker to pull off that half head turn before the snap lol

You have unknowingly described an ominous combination. Tannehill made every decision perfectly yet we ended up with 10 points and a lopsided divisional loss?

I'll take BAD DECISIONS for $2000, Alex. Maybe behind that card I'll find some margin for error. I don't want to bet on a pro golfer who swings beautifully all day and signs for 76. Give me the guy who scruffs it around in a huff and shoots 71.

I think people tend to over-analyze and miss the forest for the trees quite often. And not just on these boards I think a lot of professional GMs fall into that trap also. I don't follow college football or study hours of film, I just watch a highlight package or two and develop a gut feeling and I think just doing that I'm often as right as anybody. Including some GMs. This is one of the things that intrigues me about the Marino hiring, while everybody else is worried he won't take the job seriously enough or put the hours in, I think that may be just what the doctor ordered. Just go with your gut.

What do you think is the biggest difference personnel wise between us and philly outside of the O-line and QB...what's your skills position comparison? I know what mine is but what do you see.

I like that he's working out with RT too.

Its annoying me they are giving Landry so much play in the passing game. I think he is going to be a fantastic addition to the Dolphins and last for a very long time. However, I much rather have Rishard Matthews getting reps right now. He is the only wideout thats big and physical on our team. He can make most of the tough catches and get YAC as well. I was completely livid when Tannenhill missed him twice during the game. On the dig/post route and then the open go/fade route at the end. Tannenhill is making such good reads, just throw the ****ing ball and execute.

Really? Landry was the one bright spot for me on Sunday, on offense anyway. I mentioned before that in my view everything else in the passing game looked like a frazzled mess but the Tannehill to Landry plays looked like simple pitch and catch. He had a good day statistically too with 50 yards on 6 targets.

the freaking rb...the vision is rediculous with mccoy...he's great in all facets...perfect for what they run...millers vision is terrible...ertz is every bit as good as clay and has better height...the in line tight end offers more down the field when heathy than sims although at this stage it's pretty similar...at wr cooper uses his hands more than hartline and goes up and gets the ball...i think i'm ready for hartline to go this offseason...tired of his game when we dont need to lean on a guy like that in this offense despite crisp route running and take advantage of scrub corners like years past...

ertz wrecks people in the middle of the field...miami plays with more tempo clay can do more work in the middle also and get some blown coverages

How would you compare the overall speed of their skill players to ours?

why you beating around the bush here ha ha...hmmm...i think it's pretty similar cause we have wallace...millers fast as heck he just doesnt press the los like mccoy and doesnt have his wiggle or vision...ertz and clay play speed is probably pretty similar

Ok...yeah I think they're about the same. Cooper and Hartline are about the same speed wise but Cooper doesn't fall after every reception and he's slightly taller, good at jump balls and is better at breaking tackles downfield. I think Sproles though is a better 3rd down back option than anything we have on the team right now. Overall their receiving corp has a lot more size than ours, plus Ertz who's huge, and Celek are two guy with really good catch radius that can block and get downfield...although Celek is getting up there in age and looks to be slowing down some.
