The tackle who looked like McKinnie. Slow feet.

cj, Zach martin, or trade out...that's my 1,2,3...bring on the draft.

martin at 19 = no chance

when i did my scoops oline draft targets and grades thread in march which you can find here and in looking back now i would probably say after having seen the entire class for the most part i may have graded guys like michael schofield , jawaun james on the pass pro prowess and trai turner on the upside a round too low and maybe chris watt a round too high and leaving off a potential day 3 developmental tackle in the canadien kid tardif who must develop strength before he can play for you...

i had pulled kaoundjio out of consideration cause i had heard that he had a knee issue which would now allow him to play football in 2014...it appears that was overblown and so i wanted to go back and do a pure tape evaluation of his game and if he fits what we want in an offensive tackle and is a worthy top 20 pick consideration and first round grade...let's get to it...

6 ft 7 322 lbs 35 5/8 inch arms 10 1/4 inch hands 21 reps of 225 lbs...5.56 40

after 2012 i thought the kid was a future top 10 pick from what i saw even though i had never actually keyed him...well all i can say is my bad on that one...after taking a more in depth look at the player i have to say i wonder what i was thinking...

he shows issues vs both speed and power...gets stood up and rocked too much by power up under his pad level and walked back and struggles to recover and anchor...slow off the snap and into his kick slide and struggles with speed off the corner unless he can get his long arms out on a guy and push him past the qb...feet look heavy in pass pro...

loses leverage battles cause he's too high in the run game...does not show in space well period...run blocking is inconsistent has trouble maintaining blocks and contact...has trouble moving laterally to the 2nd level and falls off almost lumbering with his movements...best in a straight line with a straight ahead target where he can physically maul people...inconsistent cut blocker has trouble with a moving target cuts air...10 foot box tackle

plays too erect off the snap and doesnt show very good lateral quickness or knee bend...will flat blow a sight adjustment call on a free edge blitzer...

on the plus side he is only 20 years old so there's plenty of room for development of strength and technique and he has dropped 11 lbs down to 311 which will help with the athleticism and foot speed etc i'd say...there's meat on the bone here for sure but the same athlete i see on tape well it matches up with the combine performance as well which was underwhelming...

don't like the fit for zone frankly cause i don't see the athlete for it...power scheme right tackle or kick inside guard...games more of that of a mauler where his sheer size can engulf...must get stronger and play with better leverage..on the ground a lot cause he lacks athleticism on the move...repeatedly off balance or lunging in space...

frankly i'm dissappointed...there's no way i can validate a first round grade here or a top 20 pick for miami...now here's the worst of it...i believe that this is the primary target for miami at pick 19 or in a trade down...just my gut feel...i hope i'm wrong...

I had a 3rd round grade on him BEFORE the disastrous Sugar Bowl performance, in which he gave up the GW sack, AND atrocious combine medical + workout. Hickey should be fired if he drafts him at #19.

walterfootball fully supports the notion that this will not happen. They have a very interesting NOT Draft with the picks that absolutely will not happen that are predicted by someone. They were perfect last year and they have Kouandijo as the NOT pick for the Dolphins this year.

19. Miami Dolphins: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
There was a ridiculous entry in the NFL Rumors page linking the Dolphins to Cyrus Kouandjio at No. 19. Forget the fact that Kouandjio isn't likely to be a first-round pick because of knee issues; he is a very poor fit for Miami's blocking scheme.
