How long will it take to get back to the playoffs?
One other frustrating reality of tanking is that there's no timetable on when things will turn around. Getting a promising young quarterback is great, of course, but the Colts were never able to parlay Andrew Luck into a Super Bowl trip. Trubisky and Deshaun Watson haven't yet won playoff games. Neither has Matthew Stafford. Jameis Winston and Sam Bradford, both first overall picks, have combined for zero playoff berths over 13 seasons in the league.

Long article. More here https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27699720/barnwell-dolphins-really-doing-how-tank-win

haha Can't look back now. The deed has been done. This type of tank has never been done. If it works it will happen more in the NFL. Revolutionary even. If it doesnt work, well we we took the chance.

9 years of 6 7 or 8 wins. One things for sure that HAD to stop, for better or worse. And the 10-6 2016 team had a fluky inflated record. We’ve been stuck in neutral for ten years and now we’re flooring it in reverse. Total the car and buy a shiny new one and hope we have competent people driving this time around.

The only way to tank and win is hitting on draft picks otherwise it was all for nothing. We need to hit on at least 3-4 All pro type talent in the next 2 drafts and 4-5 solid starters and 3-4 good role players. If we walk away with more Charles Harris/Dio Jordan and Reakwon McMillan type of player we're not going to have a good time.

All the team needed to do was bring in a real qb as the cap situation was already going to be better since Suh was cut. Instead Grier, not knowing how to do his job, decided to sabotage the entire team.

Sabotage = tank = rebuild.

Tearing the team down to the bear bones was needed to reset the franchise. I don't blame Ross at all. He finally grew some Brass Ballz and stopped listening to people like Tannenbaum, Gase and that whole Philbin dynamic, where everyone was stabbing everyone in the back. No more Power Plays. It's just one voice and one person responsible. Whether or not that person, is the right person for the job, will eventually be determined. Winning by losing is the best way to reset a franchise. How the end result looks, has yet to be uncovered. But at least Ross realized he needed to change the circle of mediocrity the team was in. As a fan this might be the most I've come to respecting Mr. Ross. He didn't exactly show much up until this point.
