How sad is it that we've come full circle?

At least in 08 we had a QB that was a winner and ranked #1 in accuracy who kept the ball and could lead the team to wins, unlike someone with no winning instinct throwing the long ball up for grabs.

first, I don't consider Brandon Marshall the best offensive weapon last year. Second, he doesn't fit the WCO, which imo, was the main reason he was traded

You wouldn't agree that the sky was blue if it also meant admitting the Dolphins aren't good.

We still have the same exact needs that we had in 08, except the defense is slightly better and I mean SLIGHTLY... The only position where we are better off now than we were in 08 is corner back, that's it. PLEASE try to argue that Cam Wake is a better player now than Joey Porter was in his prime, PLEASE try.

Ireland is a massive failure and we have holes at almost every single offensive position, FACT.

So both of you are saying that there is no difference between the current team and the franchise historic 1-15 team of 2007? They are on par, correct?

pennington was not the catalyst for the sudden wins, it was the unveiling of the WILDCAT offense, which had NOTHING to do with pennington. then people caught on at years end and were handed our arses in the play off game.

penny hadnt won A SINGLE GAME untill the wildcat was pulled out and then you can give ronnie brown the credits for the wins.

had they not come up with the widcat, penny probably wouldnt have won a game, it was looking right away at the beginning of the season that we were heading towards another one or none season. the WILDCAT "saved" us, not chad pennington.

how did penny look the next year after the wildcat was conquered? he LOST his first 3 games and then got permantly injured.

so all this "when we had penny, if only we still had chad" crap has got to stop. its bunk. the guy did nothing for us.

in fact, the wildcat probably hurt us as it made the parcells regime look like something they were not, winners. and it went a long way to keeping them around longer than they should have because of that fluky playoff womping.

people just refuse to live in reality. this is the state of findom at the current time.

I have to agree that Philbin being our new HC is the only thing that seems good for us right now. In the few years since Ireland has been with us, we've manage to be just about caped out but yet have no playmakers other than Bush on offence.We have a LT that I'm hoping one day will be able to stay healthy and a center and that's about it. On defence we have no pass rush, only one good corner and questions at safety. I'm sure great coaching can help but I feel like we're starting all over again and will need a great draft in order to just compete this coming year even with what seems like a pretty easy schedule.

I'm not even sure the defense is better. I would throw Allen and Goodman up against Davis and Smith anyday! Hill is 5x better than anything we have had at safety. Holiday played really well that year. We have lost Bell...Bout the only thing better is a major upgrade in Dansby over Crowder and Wake over Roth.

Cam Wake is better than Joey Porter.

Prime or no prime, Cam Wake is a more complete LB than Porter ever was.

You jusf proved his point. Penny did nothing for us. Only 19 TDs. And got demolished in the playoffs.

Accuracy you say? Yeah, the Ravens would agree with that if you factor in their defense: 1TD, 4ints. That's what a noodle arm will get you and statistically has always gotten him vs Top 10 scoring Ds.

Perhaps you missed the first 2 games in Sept 09: 1 TD, 2Ints. In other words, against formidible teams like Balt, Atl and Indy in the calendar year 09 "CP10" was 0-3, with 2 TDs and 6Ints. So not so fast on drinking that purple koolade when it comes to keeping formidable LBs and DBs honest.

Forgot Porter was even on the team...that would count against the 2008 team...but Misi isn't much better

This tells you all you need to know about the state of the franchise. When the 2nd rated QB in the entire league could be considered as having done nothing for the division champs. LMAO. Welcome to my world. Be careful, you might get the label of becoming a Spin Artist very soon.
