---- How strong is Jake Long?

yes the bench reps are good but squating and deadlifting 500 is not so great. he should have put up those numbers in high school or at the latest michigan. knowing that, the numbers must be for reps becuase that's just to low.

:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:
Yea that's not so great if you're in the pool. U try to do 250 you'll break like a girl...

So, if he's doing REPS with 500 lbs, isn't that impressive?

Say, he's probably doing 8-12 REPS at 500 lbs.???

Very good, right?

Starting your first set with 500lbs reps on deadlifting and squating is good. I think he is deadlifting more though, 500lbs dont seem high enough to me.

i'd like to see Long doing 8-12 reps military pressing Vernon Gholston.
that'd be a sight to behold.

"Pennington back to pass, wow Long just lifted Gholston up.... Pennington has tons of time....Long just completed his fourth repitition of pressing Gholston.... Pennington looking left, now looking right.... Long at 9 now..... Pennington fires left to a wide open Bess for a TD.... oh my Long just tossed Gholston through the field goal... does that count?...."

you get the drift lol

37 bench reps is rediculous. I could barely do 37 bench reps at 125lbs and I can bench a max of 425.

i put up four plates on each side of the bar yesterday, for four reps, and i am a 20 year old college student who weighs 190lbs. 500 pounds for an NFL left tackle doesn't impress me very much.

I've read that Jake Long did 37 reps in the bench press at the combine last year, which was #1 of any OL or DL there.
And he did this despite his really long arms.

I also read that he's now squating and deadlifting 500 lbs. this offseason.

How does his strength compare to other NFL LT's?
Are these normal numbers, or is he stronger than most NFL LT's?

Any insight from the weightlifting fans would be appreciated.
I don't know how Jake Long's strength compares to other NFL LTs but here is a list of the top bench presses from the NFL Combine since 1999.
