Hurricane Irma Only thread

This is absolutely crazy!

I think it's a real pic. A storm this large has a massive storm surge associated with it. The water for the surge has to come from somewhere (in this case, the Bahamas).

Well I can tell you, as a person living in West Central Pasco County, my worry has steadily risen on the way the tract has
Stay safe brothers Newport Richey by Tampa here we did what we can to protect ourselves

A little breezy now

Here in NPR too bud....man did the track take a turn for the worst for us bud. You near Ridge Rd?

Well, I'm glad they are here with us in Jax as Irma is supposed to make landfall b/w Naples and Tampa. Left in the middle of the night when there was no traffic and made it in 5 hours. Still have family in Ft Laud, WPB, and Orlando though.

Doesn't help when you have idiot neighbors who ignore the dangers and leave out patio furniture and yard decorations that serve as projectiles either. Tornadoes also DGAF about Cat 4 or 5 buildings, which was the cause for most of the destruction during Andrew. Storm surges also pose great threats which was also the cause for their evac.

Whoever is holding out, all the best.

I had that experience yesterday with my idiot neighbor. Says, "I'll leave it in God's hands." As if his God would be cool with him being lazy and not preparing. Pretty much what the Bible does not recommend. Well, his things are in my garage now.

I'd put his **** out front with a sign that said "yard sale today, everything will go one way or another!"

FYI if anyone is traveling up I 77 or I 85 Charlotte Motor Speedway has opened up their shelters and campgrounds with utility services at no charge to evacuees. Off Exit 49 on I 85 in North Carolina.

Is Davie in the latest path of the storm? A lot of the fins media guys seen to live there

That vid of the tide going out is a lot like a sunami video. You sure an earthquake didn't occur out at sea? Either way, run back!! You don't want to be out there when the tide comes back. Scary stuff!

I'm afraid in about a day or two were going to have Andrew like devastation- again, keep in mind the structures aren't the same on the West coast as the East.

Just heard a weatherman say they don't even have a lot of shutters on houses in Tampa, is that true?
