Hurricane Irma Only thread

Thank you Riftur.

Anytime, thanks for working during the storm. I work for Broward and usually have to work at the EOC (IT suport) or run a logistics warehouse during storms. I have to head to the warehouse once the storm passes. If something happens that I hear about I will let you know.

Wow there is an entire concrete light post that fell across i95 north at Miami Gardens that is blocking all lanes.

Imagine if you are driving and don't see it.
That is insane them poles weigh several tons. That would smash you flat as a pancake. Be safe my man. I left Vero Beach early am Thursday for my home in Virginia. Good luck to all you all. Godspeed

Im not a big politics person, and it would be naive to think this storm and what role it would play in the 2018 elections, didn't come up in conversations on how things would get handled.

But he covered all bases and took no chances and his actions made it easier for people to prep and evacuate for this storm.

There are things I absolutely hate about what he has Passed in Florida but he did a great job with this storm.
I didn't vote for him either time, but giving credit where due, I just made the same observation to a friend. Now he may be positioning himself for a Senate run, but regardless, he still is coming up big this past week!

wow skeletor did a good job. now if the flooding gets bad ask him why he cut funding to vital wetland restoration research and water management districts. be safe all

This is my first time riding out a storm with impact windows. These things are a dream. Can barely hear the storm. Of course we don't have the most intense winds so I'm sure it would be different with the eye hitting us.

They are nice but they only work for winds up to 130 I believe so you still might need shutters for a bigger storm. I hate shutters though cause you have no clue what is happening outside. I keep checking my cars outside but have to open my door to do it.

Electric flickering on and off- probably about to go out permantelly.

This seems like the worst of it so far., can hear the wind and shutters......rattling.

Stay safe guys

Looking mostly sounding pretty grim

Wind's up to 35 MPH here and Irma is still like 10 hours away. Gonna be a long day.
