How long do you think it will take for them to restore after the storm? We were without power for 10 days after Wilma

A rep was interviewed on one of the stations. He said tonight at the earliest is when the restoration crews will start working. Either tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully before the Sunday night game. Not that it's important in the grand scheme of things, but it would be nice to have a little normalcy back.

I know the rule for EMC bucket truck guys up here is the winds have to be below 35MPH before they are allowed to go up in them. Still, just depends on how hard it is to get the gear into place from where they are staged.

Could be a long time unfortunately. Just think of how much worse it is south of us ...

Yep there go the lights, pretty shocked they lasted this long.

This last feeder band was easily the strongest and longest so far

There are hundreds of electric trucks sitting up here at Epcot. No idea if those trucks are meant for the central Florida area only or not or for the entire state. But it seemed like every 10th vehicle was a power truck up here for the last 4 days or so.

We have a tornado watch up here in Kissimmee till noon. Other than that it's been a light rain over night and not much wind yet

Ozzy rules!!

Hurricane force gusts beginning to push into mainland South Florida. 71 MPH recently reported at Miami International.

Meanwhile Y100 and WIOD ended their simulcasts of WTVJ last night as Miami-Dade loses power en masse.

Probably the whole state. Guessing they have multiple staging areas too. At least, that's what they did during Sandy. I know a lot of first responders are stationed in the panhandle at Elgin, but not sure if they stayed there or moved following the western shift. Also a bunch stationed at Opa-Locka. Friend of mine has done this for years. He also recommended Zello ( https://techcrunch.com/2017/09/10/zello-tops-us-app-store-as-the-walkie-talkie-for-hurricane-volunteers/?ncid=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+Techcrunch+(TechCrunch) ) for as long as you have cell service.

The watch desks for the coast guard in case 911 isn't working (they probably won't be able to do anything during the height of it, obviously):

SECTOR MIAMI COMMAND CENTER (305) 953-4617

Key West Command Centre (304) 433-3352

SECTOR ST. PETERSBURG COMMAND CENTER (727) 824-7506

Not sure if any of this is useful, but thought I'd share. I imagine it's all over the TV and radio there.

Saw a video on twitter of some moron riding a bicycle in the midst of some of the worst winds. Hope some poor cop doesnt need to go searching for thst arsehole
