I already know our next Head Coach.

My choice....and I know its a pipe dream..but I'd throw what ever it took, to go get Bruce Arians .

Everyone needs to stop throwing names out there. Just leave it to our amazing FO....they'll be sure to puck the wrong guy.

Coaches generally don't leave conference championship/Super Bowl caliber teams to take the reigns of a **** show, most definitely a pipe dream.

Sure hope not.... There are better candidates out there. I'm hoping we land Hue Jackson. That's my top choice over Payton. Wouldn't mind Payton, IF we don't have to compensate the Saints. I want the younger, hungrier guy in Jackson. Love his concepts and the job he's done in Cincy. Liked the work he did with the Raiders transforming a dumpster fire of a team into a playoff contender.

How many NE assistant coaches have to fail before people stop thinking their assistant coaches are the next big thing?

Hue Jackson with Schwartz as DC would be ideal IMO.

So why would Patricia come to this 'mess?' A chance to be a head coach will draw anyone with those aspirations.

Wow!!! Being head coach attracks "anyone"?

You forgot the smily or lol at the end, right? There will be some desperate schmoe take the job thumbing his nose at the long line of agent, players, gm's, players, former coaches and his mom NOT to take the dolphins job (in its curent configuration). That is, if eric mansweenie hasnt been handed the job. But there is NO great coach, current or past who is coming here and the ready for prime time assistant hot names will take the advice and not strap themselves to a losing horse first time out the gate. (smart)

You were not serious, right? You dont truly think the sidewalks will be full of every known coach for the grand priveledge of joining the ross/tanny/t-bum show. Can you?

Dang.

I have to admit NRA....you have some of the most entertaining posts on this board. Kudos to you.....

I have no idea who the next coach is going to be, however in my mind, the critical thing we will need, is a HC who can attract high level coordinators on both sides of the ball. That might be even more important than the HC as both sides of the ball will need a complete makeover this offseason. I also expect their to be fierce competition for coaches after the regular season ends and some of the better names will be in the playoffs so that will delay the process for many teams.

Going to be interesting....

Id take Patricia or McDaniels .

Obviously though , Number one candidate would be Payton .

( unless somehow Hardbaugh were to leave the Ravens which ... Isn't happening )

Why mcdaniels? Explain what he has actually done for you to want him other than getting run from the bronco's (a better team than we are now) and carrying billichecks coffee cup around.

Peyton? Not looking so all world now that his big talent is gone. And thats with a much better qb than he would have here!! The whole head coach thing is a lot of hype and fans are not getting the picture on how winning teams become winning teams.

1a. Players: Real players. If you dont have enough of them, no head coach will succeed.

1b: A gm who knows how to identify REAL talent and knows how to draft.

2. Quality Assistant Coaches: Now here is the meat and potatos of the coaching chain. Show me a great h/c and i'll show you a team with an exellent staff. They must be well versed in a solid scheme and know how to teach it. They have the toughest, most important job in football.

3. Head Coach: they usually pic their staff. The good ones know them. They know their career and reputation depends on them almost entirely. A lot of coaches turn down jobs not so much because they dont like team. The 2 biggest reasons are they cant get the assistants they want as they are under contract with other teams and/or the qb. If the team doesnt have one and there is nothing on the horizon in the draft or free agency, they pass. Its an almost guranteed loser. You dont win playoffs and supdrbowls without a qb, PERIOD!! VERY, VERY FEW acceptions.

Everyone is always hammering the x and o thing on head coaches and very few are guru's in that regard. They need to be strong leaders. No nonsense. Straight shooters who keep their word. Facilitators and leaders of men. They keep the right people in the right spots and dont hesitate to change what isnt working in coaches or assistants. Not be a knee jerk reactor. Someone with high character and intestinal fortitude.

In a nutshell, he keeps the band together and making good music. The perfect example of that kind of coach? Dan Campbell. Its to bad we wont see him with his own assistants and players and scheme.

Hue Jackson with Schwartz as DC would be ideal IMO.

This would be a great pair. I wonder if Schwartz would come back as a DC. I also wouldn't mind seeing Rex comng in as a DC if buffalo cans him after one year. I doubt they do it, but it would be nice.

I would take Doug Marrone over Hue Jackson at HC.
Jackson has not been with the same team for more than 3 years since he started coaching in 1987. Very strange.
Bring in Dave Pornstache to run the defense. Run a Joe Gibbs based offense. Hogs/ 2 TE sets
