I am so sick of hearing that we should have taken Matt Ryan

He wouldnt have won a SB in Miami because if we hadnt taken Jake Long, Ryan wouldve gotten crushed in his rookie season and probably never even lasted that long in the league.

amazing how long he has lasted with sam friggin baker

People assume Ryan would've catapulted us into the playoffs if we selected him instead of Long. Did/do we have the team around him that would've made him successful? Did/do we have the coaching staff? There are so many hypotheticals that we could argue all we like. Truth is we'll never know.

So why cry about it.

well he helped turn around a bad atlanta team that had not been to the playoffs in three years. I mean u could say the same for peyton manning but im sure noth of these guys make us a better team

You don't judge a quarterback by his playoff and superbowl wins after his first 3 seasons in the league... Otherwise, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Steve Young, Phil Simms, Phillip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Troy Aikman, Eli Manning, and several other Hall of Fame quarterbacks would've been scrapped in favor of a left tackle like Jake Long almost immediately...

The same people that do nothing but point to Matt Ryan's two playoff losses to the superbowl champs and superbowl runner ups as a reason he's not a quarterback worth having, are the EXACT same one's that wouldn't give Mark Sanchez an ounce of credit for having some of the best post season success a young quarterback has ever had in the HISTORY of the NFL...

It's a never ending circle of contradiction and faulty logic with these people... they'll actually sacrifice their own ability to think, and insult their own intelligence just to prove how much of a "fanboy" they are.. Along with defending blatant blunders and missteps tooth and nail despite everything their own eyeballs and intelligence is telling them to the contrary. It's ridiculous.

How about we just stop talking about Matt Ryan and other players using hindsight arguments? mmmkay?

Realistically, I realize how bad the franchise screwed up but it would be dumb to think that this hasn't been going on for a long time with the front offices we have had over the years. Miami could never understand the value of a defense with Marino and squandered his talent. We passed up on Brees, Rodgers and Ryan in the past decade. However, history is packed full of examples of teams with great qb's that never won a superbowl and some never went. Our problems extend way beyond the lack of qb in Miami and have been for some time and just drafting Matt Ryan doesn't guarantee a winner. With our o-line and Dan Henning I am confident that Matt Ryan would have been held back considerably in terms of maturation versus where he is now.

It isn't like what you and WV and other have been saying is some kind of new NFL gameplan that you have the honor of calling your own. It's time to drop the whole Matt Ryan/Jake Long argument and focus more on where we are going and not where we have been because those wagons keep circling and until we get a F.O. that is ready to get off the loser wagon, it is going to continue to do so regardless of how many times the same lame *** regurgitated argument is brought up.

well one could argue since we have the same regime that history will keep repeating itself and ever since they got here qb has been a low priority while line has been the priority. held back or not Ryan is a a qb that is working his way up to being one of the best while we have no clue at qb.

Ryan is a talent that is much harder to come aross compared to a lineman.

If you don't want to talk about Matt Ryan, then stay the **** out of the Matt Ryan threads. It's that simple. You don't get to tell folks what they can and can't talk about.

Go talk about that scrub quarterback Miami has and how he's going to break out this season... and how many pro bowls the irrelevant left tackle has made.

The people that don't want to talk about Matt Ryan are the one's that said he "sucked" and was going to bust in the NFL... THAT'S why they don't want to talk about it.

The one's that felt Miami should've taken Matt Ryan all along, and said that it was going to be the latest in a long line of QB blunders if Miami passed on him were getting ripped to shreads by clueless fanboys nonstop.

What people like myself and WV have been saying for a long time is ABSOLUTELY our own.

Miami's bozos in the front office IS the point... not Matt Ryan.

Right and there must be a reason you are sitting at home on a NFL chat forum and not working for at minimum a sports section of a small time newspaper and definitely not tied into the NFL....You honestly think that you and WV came up with the notion that drafting players to fit into tried and true NFL schemes instead of vice versa is the way to go? Wow..just wow. Carry on then I guess...

If you are tied into our front office or at least a beat writer than accept my apology. However, most of the relevant guys wouldn't be posting on a dolphins forum.

I had a fish that could have made a better decision lol Obviously from back to back 7-9 its not working. which would u rather have 13-3 and constantly in playpffs or 7-9 and wondering what else we need

I'd just rather not keep hearing a 3 year old argument that no longer has any bearing on the team looking FORWARD. What's done is done. Sadly, the moderators allow it and move other garbage to the "spam" section and the whole Jake Long/Matt Ryan debate isn't just confined to their respective threads either.

You're still here? Is it necessary for someone to post a link so you can see your way into a Chad Henne/Brandon Marshall thread so you can avoid discussing Matt Ryan?

I've probably forgotten more about football than any sportswriter who's never been within 6 feet of a mouthpiece and a jock strap in his life will ever know. I despise sports journalists and always have... for a damn good reason.

whats sad is three years later Ryan is a probowler who led his team to 13-3 and we still dont have even a good nfl qb. How long do we just neglect the damn position.

Well the problem with your idea is that most teams that win a superbowl win it without a premier LT. Tom brady has three rings without a premier LT, Ben roth a couple, Aaron Rodgers also.

I guess you aren't aware that Matt Light has been a premier LT and was protecting Brady's backside in each and everyone of those 3 SB wins. Furthermore, Chad Clifton made the pro bowl at LT for the Packers this past season. Between the two, they have 5 pro-bowl appearances.

Looks like their a bigger flaw in your counter argument. You got me on the Steelers though.

matt Light althougha very good T is not or ever been an elite LT in this league and Chad Cliftonalso falls in that category. When we talk about elite we are talking Long, thomas , pace , ogden

Must suck then to know how much they get paid to spew all the information that you forgot...
