I Can Now Say The Dolphins Do Not Have A QB.

Absolutely agree. There's always room for growth. But the really good ones don't start from the basement up, they're at a certain level already, and start to excel. Kaepernick went to a championship his rookie year, and Luck was a Pro Bowl player in his first year. This is Tannehill's second year. I don't expect us to go to the Superbowl, and in fact I wasn't even expecting the playoffs. I just wanted to see him show us he's a franchise player. I'm still waiting to see that.

I did like a lot of what Tannehill did in the game today. He made some great throws. But it was inexcusable to go a full half without a TD, when we had the ball most of the time. He has potential. But really soon, we'd better stop talking about potential.
Caepernick went to a SB off of what Alex Smith did, the amazing D they had last year, and the read option catching everyone off guard. Lets be honest about Luck, he was a pro bowler in the eyes of the media and fans before he ever threw a pass in the NFL. Yes he had a good year, but he was not that much better than Tanny last season. He did however have much better players around him last year. Look at Luck now without his #1 target, he is struggling. Look at Caepernick now that the NFL has adapted to the read option, he is struggling as well. RG3? Struggling mightily. Wilson is playing the best out of all of them but thats not really even a fair comparison. If you put Tannehill in his place right now Tanny would be looking like a superstar.

So Tannehill was the sole reason we lost all the games we've lost this season? Yeah he could've played better but that post was absurd.

sorry...I shouldv e made my sarcasm more clear

As much crap as the OP should get, I think every fair-weathered, short-minded person who thanked him should get the same treatment. Is Tannehill Marino, Brady, Rodgers, or Brees? No. But for everyone who wants to rip into him, take a look at Cam Newton and compare his year 2 to year 3. Or look at Luck after losing Reggie Wayne.

It never ceases to amaze me how foolishly blind some people can be.

I have always said Ryan Tannehill is a below average QB. But he has gotten from bad to worse. He is becoming very irritating to watch. Rich Gannon sounds irritated by him too. I am confident that when the new HC comes in we will have a new QB as well.

IM Sorry that i have to diagree with you , Tannehill needs just 3 TDs to break the 20 TD mark , and with a OL that has been bringing or rotating players about every other game , i think Tannehill has become a warrior , because you have to have trust in your OL to drop back and NOT WORRIE about getting planted into the dirt , and by rotating the OL like we have i just cant see how Tannehill can even be doing as good as he has ,AND as far as getting another QB , Yeah maybe in about 12 years , because we have our Franchise QB AND he will only get better s the OL gose ..

Is that the record for number of thumbs down in a thread?

The argument that Andrew Luck has his team at 8-4 only because he plays in a soft division FLIES out of the window when you stop and consider that so far this season the Colts have defeated the Broncos, 9ers, and are the only team to have defeated the Seahawks. The Colts have played 3 of the very best teams in the league and beaten them. To say they only have a good record because of their schedule seems silly.

Fact is, the Colts have no OL, no run game, their best WR is injured, and their D is not very good. Andrew Luck has CARRIED that team to a solid 8-4 mark. But, if you want to just look at individual stats and decide another QB is just as good or better than Luck then you are welcome to. I say the reason the Colts are going to win their division and go to the playoffs is because Andrew Luck is a beast and he simply dosent turn the football over like some QBs we know despite having much less to work with.

Since Wayne got hurt the Colts are 3-2. They got blown out by Arizona and St Louis. They have beaten Tenn twice and Houston. In the games against quality defenses they scored 8 against the Rams and 11 against Arizona.

There is no doubt that Luck is more polished and should be considering his pedigree and time training in the position. However, when you look at an actual representation it's easy to see that since they lost Wayne, he has struggled against good defenses. He has thrown 5 TDs and 5 Int's. His rating has been under 66 3 times. The other two were 82 and 92.

Carried them? Not anymore than RT has carried the Dolphins.

for the record since Reggie Wayne went down Luck has thrown 5 TDs and 5 INTs and has only had a higher rating than Tannehill once (week 9 92.8 to RT's 92.6) with his other ratings in that time frame being 65.3, 82.2,60.1, and 59.4 while Ryan Tannehill hasn't had a rating under 84 while throwing 8 TDs to 4 INTs. Tannehill has also thrown more yards the last 3 weeks. Luck has also fumbled 3 times since Wayne has gone out (lost 1) while Tannehill hasn't fumbled once.

Now I think Luck is a beast and also believe that stats don't tell the whole story, but it's funny what stats can show when you want them to prove a point doesn't it?

Almost forgot. Why do you point out the lack of running game and OL for the Colts but fail to recognize the same issues with the Dolphins?

Needs to be a button so that I can hit "thanks" multiple times. Never a truer statement has ever been made on this site.
